Pen truly believes that the kiss changes nothing, and Colin will never have feelings for her. While Colin’s world turns upside down and from this moment onwards all he can think about is Penelope and the kiss. It’s the start of a whole new chapter in his life and Pen has no idea!
People say it felt rushed, but we know he had a dream at the start of episode 3 and in episode 4 he is a wreck of a person. He is hiding in his study, can't even look at woman "performing" for him, getting drunk to block his thoughts.. every time he was shown in the episode 4 you could feel that torment in his head.
He attends all the balls and never dances with anyone. Just keeps staring at Pen. Our boy is so deep in love, and the signs are all there. On rewatching their scenes, it is just so obvious that it doesn’t feel rushed at all.
@@nika-pt2plhe’s been coming to her rescue with Cressida and grabbing her hands and meeting her alone unchaperoned and saying she is special to him for two seasons now. He’s been standing on the ledge he just needed a little push to fall.
I don't feel like the relationship was rushed at all because they already had years of affection and care for each other. Their first kiss just kind of flipped a switch for Colin and made him realize that his feelings were way more than just friendly lol
@@nika-pt2plit’s definitely not rushed because if you see them in both S1 and S2 they’ve always been so close! And they’ve always deeply cared for eachother. I feel like Colin has always felt something for Penelope but he was too blind to see it! But I’m not complaining 🤣

It’s actually not exactly, the words yes were perfect . But the actual kiss I’m The book was WAY more intense and they didn’t do the actual kiss part justice at all!

I can truly say this is the best first kiss in the entire Bridgerton universe for me. It’s vulnerable, it’s delicate, it’s passionate, it’s very conveying of every emotion it was meant to bring out. A nightcap on pen’s weary and embarrassing day but an illuminating moment for Colin’s hibernating feelings. The kiss was the spark he didn’t know he needed, completely changing the trajectory of his life 🤭 oh it is a beautiful kiss I have watched over and over and I do not intend to stop anytime soon. Brava! 👏
It's beautiful and to be honest I wasn't expecting to shed some tears but I did. I think it's one of the most beautiful first kisses overall, not only I'm Brodgerton.
You can see his whole world changing. Like there is such a shift in his emotions at that moment, you can see how much that kiss has affected his entire world view. Coupled with what we read in his journal about distance despite intimacy…you can see a marked difference here. There’s no distance, his whole body is on fire, his life has irrevocably changed as of this moment.

Yes!! The journal entry is so important as the brief look into Colin’s thoughts in the show when we get pages after pages of his inner monologue. I think reactions to this season will be really telling if people have read the books or not.
Well said! I think the diary entry was really significant in helping us realize how much Colin truly craves a real connection. Despite his new facade, deep inside he's still a sensitive dude looking for love
@@ShaySela99 also the fact that he goes in a second time to kiss her. The initial kiss was so short, brief and sweet. It was just a moment. And if they were truly platonic he would’ve ended it there. But no he goes back in and shows her what it’s really like to be kissed thoroughly. And that’s his choice!!! He didn’t need to feel obligated for that second part of the kiss.
And honestly who can see that and claim they’re just friends lol
@@radsical1392 Yes! I thought I was the only one that noticed that he could have stopped after the first short brief kiss, but he looked her in the eye and then went right in and kissed her for real. That was definitely his choice. You could tell he was spiraling emotionally at the point Pen said thank you. Then when he pulled back and we saw his face, we could see his whole world was crashing down around him. It was at that precise moment that I realized Colin had it bad and he was going to a man in shambles.
Also the fact that he could stop after the first little kiss as that's certainly counted as kissing but he went in for more just proves that he actually wanted to kiss her and he felt that sparks the moment their lips touched.

I found this moment to be one of the most erotic, romantic moments in the entire series. Penelope was filled with despair and self hatred. She didn't think anyone could love her. So in her most vulnerable moment, she asked Colin - the man she's in love with, her best friend - to kiss her. She didn't think it would make him feel anything towards her, because she had given up on this idea. And indeed, Colin didn't think he felt anything towards her too. But he loved her, and it pained him to see her suffer. So he agreed.
And then they kissed, and everything dissolved into nothingness. All of their prejudices, their ideas of one another. They got lost in a moment of true connection. It's just so special to me. This moment of tenderness, of finding something you didn't know you were missing - it's just so precious.

Nicola’s delivery of her request is so beautiful and also shows some of the bravery of this character that we don’t get to see outside of Lady Whistledown. I was overwhelmed with emotion and giddiness from this scene.
This scene honestly made me cry a little. More than enough people feel like Penelope. She wants to know what it is like to have a kiss at least once in her life. She truly believed Colin wouldn’t feel anything from it but he most certainly did. This kiss broke him down to finally see what Penelope truly is to him. Penelope sees him for him, not as a hunting ground for land, rank and titles like most of the others in society. Colin wants someone to laugh with, clever, different and be who he wants to be, not what society expects him to be. Penelope is exactly that person for him and he finally saw it the moment she walked away. Love this scene. Thanks for uploading.

Being Lady Whistledown one might think that she's this super confident person but deep down she's afraid that she's unlovable, that what everyone says about her being a bluestocking spinster is true
She didn't expect to ever have Colin's love. She just wanted someone to make her feel like she isn't completely unattractive. Like she truly deserves love.
And so she asked a favor of a friend. And it paved the way for so much more.
I think we all want to feel that we are worthy of love, despite all our flaws.
I cried so hard watching this scene, every single time 😭 Everything Penelope says with such desperation and sadness, the way she is kinda scared of what Colin will do or how it would feel once their lips press together and the way she runs off after saying "Thank You", is PURE PERFECTION!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😭❤️ Let's be honest, we've ALL been Penelope once in our lives. Nicola and Luke are such amazing partners on screen, Part 2 looks wild already ❤️🔥

From the costumes and the set, to the acting and writing, but what really ties it all together is the _music._ That soft, bittersweet violin melody that shifts into full orchestra as Colin moves closer, still quiet, but then it builds... and builds... and BUILDS... until, as their lips touch ever so gently, you're back to that one soft violin note. You hold your breath along with them, and then... SWEEPING SYMPHONY OF FEELS AS THEY COME TOGETHER AGAIN!!! And you can see, hear, _feel_ both of them losing their ever-loving minds at this simple, still quite PG-rated kiss. I just... it's perfect. Perfect, perfect, PERFECT!! 😍😍😍

This is the only season 3 scene I've seen so far after having watched two previous seasons. I was a bit overcome with emotions and tears for Pen, and how desperate she had to have been to have had to beg for a kiss. But at the same time, I was overjoyed that she seized the moment, put humiliation aside, and went for it.
