I love it thanks for taking the time to make this sweet list đâïžđŠđ đ¶ Keep up the great work & have a wonderful day!
@@hyrulegend9786 thank you đđŒ
@@n64glennplant Your very welcome đ
This is such a nice touch. Thank you
@@n64glennplant was this your living room in the video? Probably isnât just wondering
i love how most of these videogames soundtracks capture the "spirit" of christmas/winter, better than most pop songs these days.
Very good point there!
True! Although that's a low bar to clear.
i put on a real christmas songs list. eww i would much rather this
suddenly I have a strong wish to reunite penguin babies with their mothersđ§đ
Or throw them off the cliff đ
@@n64glennplant lets wait until christmas is over :D I dont know how Santa feels about thatđ
@@n64glennplant Ever notice how the penguin mother goes from angry to just standing and blankly staring when you drop the baby? For some reason, that always caused me to feel a tinge of sadness, like she was just devastated with profound grief to the point where she couldn't even be angry anymore.
I wish those penguins made cameo appearances in more Mario games.
N64 was my childhood and itâs amazing seeing people come together and enjoy this music till this day.
Yeah itâs amazing when you look at this list now and see what classics are still great today
Mate, DKR is in my top 3 games of all time and the smile that came to my face when hearing the first track in the list was huge. Thanks!
Itâs legendary for itâs Christmas music itâs like rare just âgetsâ it right
DKR has to be top 3 in N64 music IMO. I'm sad that it didn't get a sequel. One of my favorite racing games. Every time I hear the tracks I want to get back into the game
Always loved winter and Christmas themed levels especially the ones in banjo kazooie and super Mario 64.
Yeah they were so memorable
Another year, another christmas season that begins which means it's time to playback this video on repeat during the next two months... feels so good to be back!
Haha tell me about it! Brings back those vibes in seconds
lol i do exactly the same thing. 3rd year for me and im still loving it
Frappe Snowland is so nostalgic, I keep picturing when I used to take my N64 to my Grandparents on holidays, sitting there playing it whilst my Nan was doing crosswords and my Grandad with a 6 pack of Special Brew looking out the window, man I miss the old days and everyone Iâve lost along the way.
Haha special brew! đ
Amazing how well this music holds up more than 2 decades later
Yeah itâs so good isnât it
@@n64glennplant It really is. Merry Christmas Glenn!
That thumbnail is pure gold
Thanks and happy Christmas to you
Now this is the kind of Christmas music I can get behind. ^_^ Freezeezy Peak was always my favorite level in Banjo Kazooie! Hearing that music brings back so many good memories! âïžđ
Me too! Sure beats bearing the pogues and Kirsty McCall 100 times in the next 4 weeks hha
Nice one, Glenn. This is my WFH festive playlist sorted. Xmas is definitely the most nostalgic time of year for us N64 fans. So many amazing memories with the machine around Christmas time.
Yeah so many of these when I was putting it together was like damn I remember this in xx year and what I was doing etc! Gotta love that work from home hustle though as at least you donât have to listen to wham on repeat haha
I've been around from the NES all the way to the Switch, and the N64 is my most nostalgic console by far. I got mine Christmas '96 including Mario 64, Wave Race 64, and Killer Instinct Gold. The N64 was probably my favorite Christmas gift of all time.
Chirstmas & N64 go hand in hand with me. Since it was the one of the only time my parents would buy me new videogames. Most of my favorite N64 memory's come from playing my new games during Christmas break.
Yeah me too Jason!
I mostly only got games on Christmas and my birthday, but one year my mom put Paper Mario in the middle of a huge Easter basket. I'll never forget it
Winter music with that childhood nostalgia: this has been perfect for working from home in isolation to, thanks!
Glad you like it!
nothing beats Frosty Village in terms of christmas mood for me
There is a rock version on youtube, itâs so good.
Thatâs a banger đŻ Christmas in a song right there
Agreed
Frosty Village is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I don't know why it gets me so emotional; I liked DKR but didn't love it like I did Super Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie. I think my depression at the time of playing it started putting a damper of my enjoyment of things, but the soundtrack is still incredible.
Yes
I definitely playing this when Christmas come
its advent now so its never too early to start :D
@@n64glennplant what was your favorite Christmas presents when you was a kid Glenn?
@@sadontejohnson6287 probably a Nintendo 64 i guess. đ
Playing it the week of X-mas now.... really nice to hear holiday-ish music that's not in-your-face Christmas music like everywhere else :)
16:49 lives in my head rent free
Forever and ever
definitely saving this one for next month!
haha well its the first day of advent today so thats my reasoning :)
Banjo kazooie probably my favorite . This track is why I always play the game lmao
Itâs a great soundtrack for sure
And Christmas has officially started in our household
Mine too đ
Thank
A Glenn, perfect âdriving to work on a cool afternoonâ music.
Itâs been a mega storm here so weâve had heavy snow for the first time this year which was my inspiration đ
"Mario! I took a nap, and when I woke up there were all these items!
And it was the weirdest thing...
The floor was all wet, as if snow had melted everywhere...
Do you think someone left these as a present for you, Mario?
But who would do that???"
-Paper Mario, after rescuing 7th Star Spirit
Classic moment
So happy you included Mount Mayhem from Beetle Adventure Racing! A true christmas classic! :D
Yeah and itâs a slightly unknown one too isnât it
As soon as I started this and the DKR music kicked in, the nostalgia just overcame me!
Exactly what I hoped to achieve đ
I hope one day they make a remake of Diddy Kong Racing. Mario Kart and CTR are great, but DKR is very special to me and I think it is a game that should not be forgotten, its soundtrack is one of the best I have heard. :)
They already didâŠDS đ
Freezeezy Peak has always been the stand out one for me.
Great track
This feels like I'm reliving my childhood thank you! đ
Youâre welcome and thanks for watching
Rare really loved Christmas songs lol. You got to think those guys and girls where having lots of fun during this time of year.
Yeah their office gets a ton of snow itâs in a bit of a special area
Honestly when I clicked on this I didn't think it was going to be a playlist. I thought it was going to be your usual video essay format discussing the music choices. But this is nice.
"A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one."
I felt that I would listen to this playlist myself so thatâs why I stopped any mid video ads so anyone can just bang it on and kick back uninterrupted
@@n64glennplant it's greatly appreciated. It's a great playlist!
The nostalgia hit hard when the Harvest Moon Winter theme came on
Takes me way back that tune
Oh yes, the kart racers with the 2 off the bat! Those songs really are so magical.
Yeah instantly take me back to that era too
I can't listen to Freezeezy Peak without hearing those deep-toned cackles of those snowmen XD "BwaaahaaarrrHARRR!! *fshyooop!!*
Haha I know the exact noise you mean
I played this video for my Algebra 1 students a few years ago. I think some of them really liked it
Haha that warms my heart to hear đ
Glenn I like the thumbnail of this video as it has Ken Griffey Jr. in it. That's really all I need to like a video. By the way Griffey now has a stake in Mariners ownership
It was the official Nintendo of America 1998 Christmas card
This is just what i needed to play Bassmasters 2000 to this holiday season!
Unique way to spend the holidays !
Canât wait to start playing Bassmasters 2000 again this holiday season!
33:18 I still can't unhear The Simpson's theme and now neither can you
Gotta love that though
It's a Nintendo Christmas Miracle!
Haha I love that
2nd year running with this n64 xmas themed playlist. loving it
Haha itâs that time of the year that this video suddenly starts getting comments again and I love it
Chilly Waters is the ultimate midi Christmas song đ„ș
Itâs a good one for sure!
Bless you Glen! I'll listen to this properly today when I can. It's not far off what I've made for myself at Christmas time, which I tend to play all year round actually. đ If you don't mind me suggesting 3 tracks that I have on mine that are missing from yours and (to me) are classic Nintendo Christmas songs. 1) Surface 2 (from Goldeneye) and 2) Crystal Caves Lobby & 3) Crystal Caves (both from Donkey Kong 64)
A great Christmas back then was a huge coal fire roaring, the tree lights switched on, along with the N64 & TV, those being the only light sources. We played all the best 4 multiplayer games like that. I remember fondly we were playing Diddy Kong Racing and outside it was pitch black, snowing heavily, and the wind was howling, just like in the music of Surface 2. Great times! They really were! I'm so glad I experienced it like that!
surface was on my OG list but I cut it as I get the snow and atmospheric feel but it feels more like an ambient mood track than one which instills a Christmas feel from its music IMO
@@n64glennplant Where I live I'm exposed to the elements so the wind in the music appeals to my reality then at Xmas time.
I saw the title and immediately thought if Diddy Kong Racing isn't on this list I'm gonna be pissed. Glad it was the very first song
Itâs a classic! Merry Christmas !
this is quite the gift to the community. awesome, thanks!
Youâre welcome dry rub!
YOU ADDED THE SANTA CLAUS FROM SOUTH PARK 64?
NICE!
đ
So peaceful and nostalgic
Thanks Clyde!
Glenn Plant can do no wrong. This is brilliant.
Aww thanks Jeffrey - I do my best đ
The best n64 variety channel!
Thanks mr stone!
Happy Christmas Glenn! Long Live the N64, The FUN MACHINE!
Thanks max!
Not me trying to listen to this in 70° f Missouri right now lol. It's getting me more in the Christmas mood than the weather is, that's for sure!
Perfect timing to post this Glenn, and I dont mean cause its Christmas season - for me personally as I recently started listening to gaming OSTs and esp N64 OSTs while I work and this came in very handy.
My fav track ofc has to be from Banjo: Freezeezy Peak (make sure you spell that correctly in your mind, imagine you're there, outside, freezing).
Haha well Iâm currently in an outdoor spa right now and itâs damn cold and snow is due haha
Wow you actually created this âŠ. Itâs beautiful
Thank you
All my memories of Christmas holidays between '97 and '01 came flooding back simultaneously! Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for making this, Glenn!
Glad I could take you to a happier time hey!
Well, you could'nt have chosen a better song to start this video with. I freaking love Diddy King Racing so much.
One of the best of all time
Christmas period is over but still digging the jams in Jan!
I wish it could be Christmas - everdayyyy
My girl would unfortunately kill me if I played all this for our Christmas party this year lol but this is definitely my childhood, hello from Germany!
Itâs worth death thoughâŠ. đ
@@n64glennplant lol my brother! It definitely is worth it!
Back here in Christmas 2023! Merry Christmas again Glenn and everyone!
I always thought it was interesting how the Diddy Kong Racing song "Snowflake Mountain" dances around being "Roll out the Barrel."đ
Ha itâs funny because a few of the rare songs are clearly remixes of classic songs but just enough changed to get away with it
@@n64glennplant Absolutely. They really skate the edge with some of them. It would be interesting to make a comparative list. I'm still finding ones on NES that sound remarkably close to other popular songs.
Itâs that time of the year again !
Never too early for this âșïž
I kind of wish it was longer, but that's the sign of great content, I think.
I wish it was too but I didnât want to include anything that was maybe loosely connected etc
Bomberman music steals the show as always
That Kirby track is a close second favorite tho
Well, I hadn't heard that SSSV track before, but it's pretty soulful too
Bomberman had some amazing soundtracks
Ah yes, my favorite song from Space Station Sillicon Valley.
Great tune isnât it and well done for even knowing the game!
Snowboard Kids soundtrack is just so nostalgic
Yeah all of it is amazing to me
This video is THE default background music at my house
Mine too haha
Rare could really nail Christmas back in the day! This is so awesome!
this may just have to on repeat all december now.
I wouldnât blame you - beats wham đ
Well, it's November and where I live that means that it's the start of Christmas so time to play this at least once a day for the next two months! â€
Haha itâs crazy how literally as soon as November first rolled around this shot up in views đ
You had me at Frappe Snowland
đđđđ
Man there is nothing better!
We are listenig to this awesome
Playlist, while decorating our Christmas Tree đ€
Happy Christmas Grunty!
GoldenEye-Surface for Xmas present hunting
Haha that was on the original list but was cut as it felt more brooding that I would like for an upbeat Christmas soundtrack
@@n64glennplant add it at the end man
Cant believe that army men is there good thing you still remember it exists
Haha you know I was wondering how many people would suddenly remember that track as itâs perhaps the most obscure one on here
@@n64glennplant i have all army men games and their soundtrack is top notch
Whenever I see playlists like this, I think about this one CZcams video where some guy trashes on winter-themed music and using samples of sleigh bells, and I legit rage.
Anyone else love sleigh bells? ;________________;
Haha what video!?!?
I was just thinking about how happy those Christmas songs from DKR made me feel and suddenly this song pops up.
Good job :)
Glad you enjoyed!
I have a complete Japanese N64 collection and every Christmas I 100% Ocarina Of Time. I mean I also do it a few other times during the year but it's like tradition for me to do it in the couple weeks leading up to Christmas.
I remember doing it in 2003, then I got a Gamecube for Christmas with Wind Waker and Master Quest so the first game I played on my new Gamecube was Ocarina Of Time again.
Haha I got that disc too, I love wind waker as well even back then
The memories and nostalgic feels that Snowboard Kids - Big Snowman stirs in me. If I could just go back for one day.
I know right I love that tune itâs pure nostalgia for me too
Great playlist, Glenn! So many of these songs bring back plenty of fond holiday memories. Always remember playing games like Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Kart 64, and Mario Party with family and friends.
Yeah they were happy times right
Merry Christmas from Veracruz, Mexico!
Merry Christmas to you too
ahh Glenn! this is for us? Thank you so much!
I couldnât banish the bird and bear
But happy Christmas to you over there
This is phenomenal! Thank you so much Glenn!
And thank you for listening
Love seeing Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and even Snowboard Kids 1 & 2 on here! Great Christmas/Holiday/Winter Nintendo collection ^^
Thanks Brad! Glad you enjoyed!
Good to see you Glen Christmas is not far away
Thanks Stewart!
@@n64glennplant you're welcome
Great little playlist, I missed it the first year, so many amazing tracks
I have a large list of Winter / Christmas themed video game music I play every year at Christmas, gonna have to add a few of these to my collection!
Glad you found some new material!
shiver star hits hard
SEVEN minutes for Ice Cavern? OK, whatever you say.
Take it all in man đ
Christmas came early đ
Well itâs the first day of advent đ
Thank you so much for making this! This is going to be my background music whenever I'm home during Christmas
Thanks for listening!
December 25th: I waited all year to listen to this playlist for Christmas đđ
Oh my goash that wallpaper đđ and yah dk racing got a lot christmas kinda musicđ
Yeah tons of it!
Cool playlist! Some heavy duty nostalgia inbound listening to this around my 30th christmas. Hope you and yours are enjoying the season, man
Thanks Dan and merry Christmas to you and yours
Shiver starâŠisnât that nuclear winter earth? Seems appropriate for the holidays
Haha could be!
Only complaint I'd make is Ice Cavern goes on for a little too long for the amount of track available. Otherwise excellent, great to see Space Station Silicon Valley in there! (a couple more from that title could have been added too)
I did consider a few from SSSV but snow joke was the only one which I think fit here. Good soundtrack in the game overall though
starting with DKR is pure kino
Nice, not really a Holiday dude but I like Ice theme and N64 related things.
Yeah I think thereâs enough nostalgia here for anyone to enjoy
What a legend.
Many legendary games here đ
This!đđ» You have gathered all the best in one Christmas-collection! Greatđ đŒđ€©
Thanks for watching/listening Nicholas
@@n64glennplant and thank you for sharing!
such an awesome idea thanks so much Glenn
And thanks for listening đ
If there was 1 games songs i could add in here from any other system,
Iâd choose croc on ps1.
The snow levels in that game are great
Nice choice!
This is amazing, every year I look up certain tracks from N64/SNES games that reminded me of christmas! Although I have found other compilations, I'm happy that you put one up! Love the channel, keep up the good work!
Thank you for listening!
I'm glad Sarge's Heroes made the list.
Itâs an obscure one that I didnât think many would remember đ
Thanks for this Glenn.
And thank you for listening
