Hi Sasada. I've been following for over 5 yrs. This Japanese elm looks like our American elm. Our American elm is beautiful hard & heavy wood. A lot of water content. Our trees are much smaller 3 feet the most. ( They're rare in that size.) We got the elm blight in the 1980s decade. I'm from Vermont/ Northeastern U.S.A. Vermont has thier logging programs too. Sir, thank you for sawing this elm log. The wood is close grained and sturdy, also beautiful. People often say "I want all walnut" or "only maple is good enough for my home". I would prefer these slabs for furniture, table tops, and trim.
