    Hi Dannie bro. I want to invest in solar. I'm still not fully convinced about choosing between on/off-grid. My requirement is about 3kw. During May/July/sep I consume around 1000+. But in jan/mar my consumption is below 500. The surplus is about 50% which will get lapsed at the end of the financial year. If I choose off-grid I don't want a lead acid setup. And it took about 8 / 9 years to recover the investment if I choose on grid. And 10 years later the efficiency will drop by 10%. How to Minimize the losses and please share your thoughts on lifepo4 batteries.

    • @DannyTechieTalks
      @DannyTechieTalks  Před rokem +2

      My suggestion is to go for 4kw On-Grid system which is cost effective and best ROI for your money. Always prefer On Grid system which is best where in Off grid need to change battery for every 5 years which is not good for ROI . Still I didn’t see any good manufacturer in lithium where still R&D is in progress. I’ll prefer solar lead acid battery till we get good lithium battery manufacturer.

    • @rajmohanvm3800
      @rajmohanvm3800 Před rokem +1

      On an average , they used to compute 1 kW produces = 4 units per day .. and this slowly goes down over 20 years time. 800 units for 2 months -- means, 800 / 60 days = approx 13.5 units per day. So make it 15-16 units per day, taking into consideration the solar panel deterioration over time. It's adequate for you to install 4 kW or go with 5 kW system.

  • @kulasekaranamirthalingam3033

    THEB using CUF as 21% through out the year which is also wrong. This 21% takes care of night time non production hour during summer but not taking account of 2 ~ 4 months of winter rain etc. example my system is 5 KW producing 20 ~25 units / day. As per their calculation 5KW X 24Hrs X 21% CUF = 25.2 Units / day which is my maximum in summer only for some days. actually a 5KW unit can produce only 6000 units in a year which works out to under 15% CUF. this is another way of making money by this govt.

      It doesn't matter the kW. You need to know the voltage rating of the inverter that gonna be used. Choose the panel based on that. You can even use 1 piece 440 watt panel to charge the batteries. It depends on the effectiveness & the sun light on that particular day. The inverter rating, and the number of batteries you gonna use.

      If you want to charge 1 pcs 12 volt 450 ah battery, then you need to have an inverter or a charger set up that will support to charge 12 volt. Or if you connect 2 pcs 12 v batteries in series , your inverter or charger needs to support at least 24 VDC. While choosing the panel, choose one with high output current rating & same volt rating required, so that the battery charged sooner..

    Hello Brother, I need your help in clarifying my doubts regarding on-grid solar consumption.
    I just moved to a house for rent in which an on-grid solar panel is installed. I got a 1st-month EB bill yesterday & as per the EB meter, I consumed 680 Units & the CC charges in the bill mentioned is Rs.3470
    My house owner says that his panel produced 420 kWh in the last 2 months & he shared the below calculations & asking me to pay him the additional amount.
    680 + 420= 1100 kWh.
    I must pay Rs. 3470 to TNEB as per bill
    And additionally, the House owner asking Rs. 4,620 (420*11 Rs as per Govt rate ) for the solar production.

      @@DannyTechieTalks you are using the infrastructure of power companies so there will be network charges. Let me remind you, you pay rent for every electric post each month. You are using the services of power companies who provide these to the public, hence you pay GST. Why can't you ask your govt owned power company to exempt them from GST?
