    Thanks for the walk through. It makes fixing things a whole lot easier when you have a theory of operation. If you know what it's supposed to do, and in what order, it makes finding and fixing the problem that much easier.

    What a great invention the jukebox is. … and the sound is fantastic too. …I remember hearing “Concrete and Clay” back in the day and thinking how good it sounded through the jukebox. Very interesting video. Thanks for the lesson Ronnie.

    About 6 years ago I used one of your older videos to help solve mechanical issues on my Rockola 454. Being on several Rockola group sites I often refer people to that video in hopes they can have the success that I have enjoyed. This video should be like Rockola 101 to help familiarize people with the basics of how these work. I will surely use it as a reference from now on. Thanks for what you do.

      Thank you Mike, glad you found it usefull. I've found that a lot of technical folks when they make instructions or videos, they don't keep it simple and it confuses people, so I like to try to make it easy for anybody to understand.

    Nice video. The colorful design was lifted from the design on the Wiz album cover from 1975.

    I grew up in a very small town in Colorado. We had an old bar in town called the Oasis. It was old school. Built in the early 1920's. They got a new jukebox and it was this exact machine. The design stuck out in my head. My mom would give us dimes. Me and my sister would play songs. I preferred pinball but it wasn't a dime. I loved music. I'd play some Hank. I remember it sounding good. My sister would piss the whole bar playing Queen of Hearts on repeat 😂. I haven't seen this machine in 43 years. WOW, the memories. My mom would dance and sing with my dad. Back in the seventies nobody thought twice about us kids in the bar. No seatbelt on the way home lol. My mom had a red 63 Ford Falcon. Beautiful times.

    Have a good buddy of mine, Vern, has one almost identical to this one in Carolina. Don't get over there much but always admire the artwork on it and when I do get over there he usually has it playing. Just an awesome piece of history that still has a practical use today! Always I need item to view when I'm over there. Just can't beat the sound you get from a record! It's very unique! His is in really good shape as well and functioning

    Agreed about the style and then unfortunate hate about these boxes. I restored two 474 over the last couple of years and kept one. Really like it. Cheezy styling for some, but ok for me 🥰

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před rokem +1

      If you think about it, cheezy just means great, people just don't want to admit they're easy. So they say stupid shit like Elvis is cheesy, when he's one of the greatest performers that ever walked the planet, etc.

    Not going to hide it... sad to admit it... but as a youngster, I am guilty of spilling a cup of soda on the top of one of these.
    It wasn't intentional. I didn't even sit the soda on the top (Mom would have killed me if I did).
    I was holding the cup in my hands and got bumped from behind when I was looking at the song selection.
    It was at a very crowded supper club where they gave me and my siblings plastic cups for our orange Crush soda while we waited for our table.
    Fortunately, the spill happened on the glass over the music title display. It didn't really get into the selection button mechanisms. It didn't look like anything got inside the cabinet... I hope.
    I remember my Mom quickly grabbing a bar rag from the bartender and wiping up the mess.
    No damage that I know... just an embarrassing moment in my young life.
    Thank you for sharing your work with us. Keep up the great content. I watch for new posts every day. 🙂

      @LyonsArcade  Před rokem +4

      They design them with little channels so if water gets on them, it flows out of the way and doesn't hit anything important :) When I lifted up the top, look real close and you'll see a green tube, that catches all the liquid people spill on top of it. RISE, AND SIN NO MORE

    Integrated circuits are combinations of solid state components all on a single silicon substrate in a package with multiple solder legs.

    So cool! Love the "Popularity Wheel." Love that it doesn't have to learn each track like a cd box, because each 45 just has an "A" or "B." I have a rowe cd100 wall box, and still listen to cd's, but also added a bluetooth adapter so I can play front my phone as well. I don't know if a 45 box could use bluetooth adapter or not. Thanks Ronnie ✌️

    Como extraño componee sinfonolas y mas las de la marca rockola, en especial la modelo 445 ya que aun contenia amplificador de bulbos, la mayoria son lo mismo solo con diferente mueble y amplificador, pero en general tienen el mismo mecanismo todas, pequeñas variaciones en el mecanismo de seleccion y credito, digamos que todas son como los carros antiguos, tienen el miso motor y diferente carroceria

      @LyonsArcade  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Email me what it's speficically doing and I can look over the schematics.... Does it not write in at all, or does it only do some of them? If it doesn't do any at all you may be missing the negative 28 voltage, I was just looking over that for somebody the other day.

      @LyonsArcade yea it just spins the last number will lock in but the write in just spins. The numbers over on the far right dont show it going thru them like I have saw in other videos either. From time to time it will stop but not trigger any pins.

      Yo les recomendaria que compraran la rockola 454 es mas facil de componer, tiene amplificador de bulbos que la hace tener un sonido especial, el mecanismo de credito es muy sencillo, su fuente de alimentacion tiene muy pocos componentes, su mecanismo en general es mas mecanico, la mayoria de sus fallas son falsos contactos
      Este modelo que explica ya es de transistores, la fuente, amplificador y creo que el sistema de monedas son transistorizados

      If you're the type who thinks you're going to change videos I've already filmed, you probably ought to go watch somebody else. You're telling me to stop doing something, that I did on a recording. I can't change that, and it's kind of weird that you would insist I do. Do you think before you complain, or do you just like to complain? I don't enjoy complainers.
