i saw Ukrainian civilians making larger versions of these using empty tins, last winter, to keep their soldiers warm in the trenches.
We made these 60 years ago in boy scouts. It's called a buddy burner.
We made them in girl scouts too one of the only fun things my troop did.
Now, boyscouts is changing soon to Scouts of America.
Was just going to say I made these in couscous 30 years ago.
I feel this would be the best segway for the Lego napalm video.

When i was little we made something similar in Cubs,we use Dryer lint ,carboard egg cartons and candle wax
Did the same but used dry wood shavings. The little cubes traveled and worked well.
I do the same thing. Only I use paper egg cartons, wood shavings, and wax. I then use dryer lint and attach it to the top( Dryer lint is highly flammable). These burn up completely and is water proof and there is no metal to carry out.

Substitute bacon grease for the wax
A thing my dad does is take the bottom part of an empty cardboard egg carton, put dryer lint in the cavities, and then drip wax on top of the lint to help keep in the carton. Then, cut the carton into individual pieces.

hey, was thinking that cooking oil and sugar could work as well instead of the candles, I pour like 2 spoons of sugar on 2 napkins and wrap it, then pour cooking oil on it and it works pretty well, but this hack you're showing seems to last much more
Bee's wax burns almost twice as long as an equivalent weight of paraffin wax.
How about a survival "puck", water resistent and lights with a string pulled. Or two halves canes taped together with storm matches stuffed in the middle, or strike anywhere matches...

Mabye candle wicks would work longer than cardboard, but I'm not sure if it would get as hot as cardboard.

Why are people saying "rest in peace king"
I would not cook food inside of a drinks can, they have a thin plastic lining. TKOR should know, they dissolved the metal once leaving only the plastic.
I would use chunky wood chips instead of cardboard if you want a longer burn. If you use a tin can it shouldn't melt so you can remove the metal after easily. You could also use his famous pull start method so it can be lit in all weathers easily.

I don't think that changing the carboard would make barely any change to how long it lasts, because the carboard is not fuel, it is just medium and the wax is the fuel.
changing the fuel to something else would make lot bigger difference
Would not recommend to use as cooking flame. Aluminum oxide can be a big factor in getting Alzheimer's.
It's no more than would come from tinfoil, should be fine

Hi Jarom. Why not try experimenting with different kinds of things in place of wax candles(but keeping the cardboard)? Perhaps you could try beeswax, hamburger or bacon grease etc.
Would freezer boxes or milk cartons work(don't they have wax in them?🙏
