People have a short memory and live on the current wave. I still believe India did the right thing of leaving rayadu and selecting vijay Shankar. And you have to look reasons into it.. yes rayadu undoubtedly played very well against MI but he's mostly a player with limited abilities and does well on flat tracks and mediocre attacks. His career stats is boosted by string of good performances against Zim, ban etc.. The reason he was dropped was he couldn't handle quality pace.. in last home odi series against aus before WC, he was just bowled easily by quality Aussie quicks and was generally late on the ball. Besides he was a terrible fielder and a poor runner between the wickets. It is easy to bash Shankar now but look what he did then.. he scored runs in difficult circumstances and looked like he belonged.. in the match against aus, India were in trouble but he stitched a partnership with Virat and outscored him easily without playing big shots before he was run out in 40s. In game against NZ, India were 18/4, it was his partnership with Rayadu where Shankar did the primary scoring that eased pressure off rayadu and India got to a good score. In that match too he was run out on 40s.. against nz in t20s too he scored 40s on couple of occasions.. besides he was sharp on field and could bowl seam up always handy in SENA countries.. technically as a batsman alone he looked better equipped than Rayadu. Those who think Rayadu could have won India a WC are living on Mars. I'm not saying Shankar would have won too.. btw Shankar was injured very early in the WC tournament and sent home. He did ok took couple of wickets against Pakistan.. what happened after that was unfortunate where Shankar was not given any chance in Indian cricket team.. his confidence hit rock low and now he doesn't look the same player.. still he has bowled decently in ipl and his team doesn't give him the backing which is much to expect from the team that drops Warner! I'm not a fan of Shankar but I think he can become a good cricketer needs proper grooming..

He Should have broke into Team India by mid 2000s but due to cricket politics in state board and some poor career decisions by him like joining ICL has lead to his international career not taking off soon. So Rayudu never deserved to play in t20i. And his ipl stats are not that great . Sr of 120 something comeon guys pls be logical. Playing in ipl is not at the same level as playing for india.

guys just look at his t20i stats. I know just 6 matches but still those 6 matches during the time when we had so many batsmen who could hit it out of the park easily. In 6 matches he scored 42 runs in 5 innings at an avg of 10 and sr of 84. So u guys really think rayudu was a good t20 player at that time. He was really good in ODi. But in t20i he was not even a avg player.

People have a short memory and live on the current wave. I still believe India did the right thing of leaving rayadu and selecting vijay Shankar. And you have to look reasons into it.. yes rayadu undoubtedly played very well against MI but he's mostly a player with limited abilities and does well on flat tracks and mediocre attacks. His career stats is boosted by string of good performances against Zim, ban etc.. The reason he was dropped was he couldn't handle quality pace.. in last home odi series against aus before WC, he was just bowled easily by quality Aussie quicks and was generally late on the ball. Besides he was a terrible fielder and a poor runner between the wickets. It is easy to bash Shankar now but look what he did then.. he scored runs in difficult circumstances and looked like he belonged.. in the match against aus, India were in trouble but he stitched a partnership with Virat and outscored him easily without playing big shots before he was run out in 40s. In game against NZ, India were 18/4, it was his partnership with Rayadu where Shankar did the primary scoring that eased pressure off rayadu and India got to a good score. In that match too he was run out on 40s.. against nz in t20s too he scored 40s on couple of occasions.. besides he was sharp on field and could bowl seam up always handy in SENA countries.. technically as a batsman alone he looked better equipped than Rayadu. Those who think Rayadu could have won India a WC are living on Mars. I'm not saying Shankar would have won too.. btw Shankar was injured very early in the WC tournament and sent home. He did ok took couple of wickets against Pakistan.. what happened after that was unfortunate where Shankar was not given any chance in Indian cricket team.. his confidence hit rock low and now he doesn't look the same player.. still he has bowled decently in ipl and his team doesn't give him the backing which is much to expect from the team that drops Warner! I'm not a fan of Shankar but I think he can become a good cricketer needs proper grooming..
Just check how rayudu prepared himselves accoridng to england condition . He is top run getter from india in Newzeland series where pitches were similar to England conditions . That's the real talent we missed out brother
@@Tejatekkem bro his stats are misleading.. you need to watch the matches to appreciate it.. as I mentioned in the match against nz where indact he top scored in that with 90, it was vijay who absorbed the pressure and lead a rear guard action.. besides rayadu only scored when we had already won the series and there was no pressure.. you just check his stats against top teams and minnows.. he is good for Indian conditions that when facing not a very quick bowler.. limited player. If he was too good he would have forced himself into team selection.. look at Samson when he plays he looks million bucks but is mighty inconsistent when given the chance he couldn't grab it.. so based on 1 or 2 ipl knocks we can't say we missed rayadu or Samson.. harsha has a soft spot for Rayadu I think he's also from AP that's why..
Vijay Shankar now himself said that he isn't concerned about national team selection now. He just wants to enjoy his cricket.
