Yes the Grizzco Stringer has a major ink consumption con as its downside, it is not close enough to the other Grizzco weapons cons. Take the Grizzco slosher, it is a boss killing weapon & a lesser salmonid killer, it's con is it's turf ability. I could go into further explanation but I hope you get the point.

Pro tip with Stringers in general: The damage caps at the first ring of charge. The second ring just focuses the arrows and extends the range. This is true for all Stringers. On a big target like Cohozuna, it's easy to hit all the arrows anyway so you can get a lot more DPS by just charging the first ring at close range. This is, of course, far more effective with the Grizzco Stringer.

The Grizco Stringer is pretty balanced by the fact that trying to ink turf with it is a miserable experience it really is only useful for being able to insta-kill pretty much everything.

For the time bonus and damage deal to salmon king, it’s only influenced the bronze scales. For the silver and gold one, it’s based on luck and on the actual difficulty you defeat it
Since in-universe the Grizzco weapons have illegal modifications, I wonder what were those illegal modifications specifically? Because holy crud the Grizzco stringer hits like a truck
A modification that allows it to string more arrows than regulation permits, and a modification that gives its arrows a stronger payload than regulation permits. Also note that Grizzco weapons are technically not a breach of any laws - the modifications are illegal in Turf Wars and Ranked/Anarchy battles, not completly banned, which is also why Pearl still has her Princess Cannon despite the Killer Wail being an illegal weapon at that point in time - it isn't forbidden for it to exist, only for it to be used in a match.
It is really easy to tell if a cohozuna is going to spawn because the "victory" music sounds a bit off key on some of the notes near the middle and the end

that isn't true though, you gain 2 scales no matter what, and up to 8 depending on the amount of HP you deal. 3 extra can be rewarded for every 10 seconds remaining if you kill him. the rarity of the scales is entirely luck based, but the odds of getting them increases the higher the hazard level, up to 20% for silver and 3% for gold at hazard level max.
Omg this happened to me too!!! Cohozuna wave we got 3 grizzco stringers and a sloshing machine and got him down with 46 seconds left to spare!!! I keep seeing people with 4 Grizzco stringers and LOSING like HOWWW its so powerful
My personal theory is that they're being stingy with the scales because they don't have the rest of the scale rewards finished. If players spent a bunch of scales, they'd unlock everything, only to see that the hidden rewards just don't exist yet. 10+ spaces for outfits and we only have...3. I have a feeling we're gonna see things like a suit or even the classic outfit, but right now they just don't exist.
Fun fact! Grizzbow does 1350 damage if all 9 arrows hit. Thats enough to kill most regular bosses in one hit (except for an armored flipper flopper) and does more damage than the egg cannon. (Ec does 1000 damage) So yeah, I'd say the grizzbow is pretty good

We actually have more than three outfits. The more scales you spend, the more stuff you can unlock.
You didn’t get a golden scale because it’s completely random. The amount is what is calculated, in which the max is 13. what you got.
