- The story of Starbucks goes back to the 60s. Back then most Americans preferred to make their coffee at home and there was no urban "Coffee culture".
However, that was about to change, thanks to a trip to Italy. In 1962, Gordon Bowker, a college dropout from Seattle was on a trip to Milan when he found out what real coffee tastes like. He was hooked on the beverage. Unfortunately, he couldn't find the same taste in Seattle and had to drive to Vancouver B.C in search of quality coffee. One evening he shared his story with University Friends Jerry Baldwin and Zev Seigl and proposed an idea. "Why not start our own coffee company right here in Seattle?"
Jerry and Zev liked the idea so much that they quickly set about turning their vision into reality.

I'm 39 years old and literally just had my first Starbucks drink the other day (was never a coffee person but had an iced mocha so hey look at me now haha). Which led me to look up the company history - this is a fantastically researched and edited video!

Now Starbucks is the world’s biggest commercial coffee company. The taste is average compared to others. So sad

What's this? I was born in 1970. Isn't Starbucks a road address? If so, it's mine too.
I'm grouchy because I'm from California and can't afford a got ham cup of coffee next door

Starbucks is south American so that's mission, folks. That says they should be able to give their neighbors a free cup every so often or work with society as a mission.
Case in point; I live in a mission town in the center of California. Starbucks is a 2 minute walk north but I pay the same as driving mission tourists- high. It makes bad neighbor sense to take up residence yet to deny the small town our fair mission wells.
That's a plain cup of black coffee each morning because they can prove we live withing walking distance in the town we live in.
Do they give a cart to the nearest mission? Yes? Cool! Ranchose Doorsitos!
Cart, sandwich board, a snack sized burrito or bun. Bum is more like it. That's a Paul Bunyan.
There's too much food & drink inhabiting our mission town fir us to have to take it away from whoever lives farther or is driving.
Yuck. That's a whiff appall round my neck of the woods.
One small town. Care fir it before you sprawl in defiance and rejection of our mission. Nobody outside of this town oughta get my choice I said.
3.8 is low to be let loose on Americas natural resources. And it's too much for so few to power it. That's property of Catholic missions of America, to put a perspective on it. That says if people south of the border will make the coffees, they get to live here and be a co-operative instead of lorded over by Hollywood's hipsters.
Bring it home to America. That's too far!
