Thank u. This video made me pull the trigger on buying it, getting mine on Tuesday lol. Simple clear video no bs. Good video😊
Great video. Good camera angle for everything, and straight forward explanation. Thanks!
Would someone please buys this mans Subie, It's getting expensive for me to watch this CZcams Channel. I keep seeing stuff I thought I didn't want. 🤣🤣 It's one thing to see parts on line on a manufacturer's website. It is another thing to see it installed on a Subaru that is somewhat similar to yours with respect to modifying style. The only issue I have with the Cobb unit is that there is no sight glass so you can see the coolant level. That is kind of important. Killer B Motorsport reservoir has this feature.
WRXMAN YOU’RE ON CZcams TOO ? I always love the comments you leave under my post !
literally just came in the mail for me. thanks for the quick video!
buying this today! Looks so clean🔥
New tank looks pretty sweet!
I ended up running my line strait acrossed because I cut a bit to much line off lol. It doesn’t look bad just not as low key as yours. Your video was super helpful for install thanks.
Def looks like a fun install thanks for making the video!
Thanks dude just installed on my 2014 hatch!
Definitely cleaned it up. Love the look
Been looking at this. Now I definitely want it. Thanks for another great install video.
Highly recommend it. It's one thing seeing in video, but in person, it's on a whole other level of quality.
Been looking into this for my 2019 WRX so now I'm definitely gonna order one.
You’ll love it
I’m definitely buying this thanks!!
Looks so much better. I might have to pick this kit up.
Highly recommend it. It cleans up the engine bay so much.
I love your engine bay so much it looks so good.
Thank you! I’m a big fan of it too haha.
Wish Cobb made cool stuff like this for the Focus platform. Looks awesome brother.
Engine bay looking cleeeaaaan now. Kinda sad to see it go. after all, u were the one who got me into subies, but m3's are a good choice
Damn, it looked awesome and so neat!
Looks good, I want to get one now 😂
This mans engine bay is so clean. I’m just glad my subie is running lmao look good though
Awesome install video: had this playing on my phone today while doing the install on my 17 STI. You just missed one step: what do do when you drop one of the screws deep inside the engine bay and have to jack up the car, take off part of the belly pan to get it out :D.
Glad it helped you get through the install! It’s such a nice piece that really cleans up the bay.
Haha! We have all been there brother. And it’s always the last bolt/screw.
Lucks so good! Adding this to my list of mods to be done soon. Thanks for the install video.
Damn, sooooo nice!
That’s sexy. Those welds look like art.
You have to install window visors on your car. It makes the Sti look million times better!! And is a cheap upgrade too. I better see a video of this soon haha
I am the minority here but I do not like the look of the visors.
Looks awesome! What's the weight like on this? It's beautiful but how much would you say if you could guess. Thinking about doing this with a lightweight battery mod.
Thanks
No more than 2lbs I would say. It’s light!
Getting more into DIY stuff… your videos help! Seems like a simple question, but how do I figure out the size of fasteners? Like the two titanium fasteners you have added on top, what size are those? I might want to find them in black. I don’t have any aftermarket nuts/bolts in the engine bay, but I might want to replace a few here and there like in this case since it might be a silver fastener on a black powder coat.
Just use a caliper and measure the size of the bolts you need.
You should make a list of all the titanium nuts bots and hardware you put on the sti I would definitely buy all of it the engine bay is 😍😍😍😍
Shew. I don’t think I could even start the list haha. It’s over 130 pieces by now.
@@Scoobyfreak86 damn I’ll just rewatch so vids then but are you serious about selling it ?
Had to look real hard how to fill up the window washer fluid but I figured it out the big cobb hose clamps to the side of the tank. For a second I thought it deleted the fill spot haha
Haha yup, it's the silicone tube on the right. It clips right to the side of the tank for a nice and neat install.
thx for yr sharing, any inspection window can see the water level or need to open the top cap to check? Thx again
Have to open it up and check
I keep having coolant piss out of the overflow when a I go into boost
This looks great, I've been looking for a place to add a Catch Can or AOS, does this mod open up enough room for one of these. Usually the Perrin and others are mounted on the passenger side beside the intercooler, which is pretty cramped in the 2019 STI. This would be a great solution if it makes sense.
The iag aos works best on the back firewall passenger side. If fmic, then you can mount it above the pitch top. I wouldn’t know of a way to mount an aos or catch can in the area up front though. You could if you fabricated something custom.
@@Scoobyfreak86 Thanks for the almost instant reply, a while back I didn't see a good instal video for an AOS, I just watched one and now I'm sold on the IAG, just as you suggested, they really thought it out and even down to a new mount for the Electric wiring bundle. I think this is the path as well as the coolant overflow that you've shown. Aloha
8:51 i love this hehe
Naturally, I have a secret stash of ti bolts haha
Link for dress up bolts radiator holdown and the carbon air duct pls
Send over a dm to titanium works on Instagram. They will be able to get you set up.
👌🏼
my cobb fmic came with this. its so beautiful. do you have any problems with it leaking from the small breather hole?
At the top? No issues at all. The tank shouldn’t be filled that high. Only 1/3 full
@@Scoobyfreak86 i possibly over filled it haha
How do you know if the tank is running low on coolant? The OEM clear tank has the Low and Full levels.
With this Cobb tank, how can you tell? Aside from Popping the cap off every so often
Just need to pop the cap off. Not a big deal considering I’ve never had to check the level my entire ownership.
How long was the wait for you to receive the RK titanium coolant hose ?
Few weeks if I recall correctly.
Only issue is you can seem to use this if you have a front mount ugh I have one already and had it on and installed my front mount but unfortunately it was in the way im not sure how to go about relocating it but I’m going to have to find a way
This is designed to work with the Cobb front mount. There is a mounting point for the cold piping to bolt to.
@@Scoobyfreak86 sadly I bought ETS front mount for the titanium piping
Bro where did you get those bolts and that radiator cap
czcams.com/video/WXa00R9X6bo/video.html
Lol that window washer fluid tube is ridiculous
Wish Cobb would make a small windshield washer reservoir.
Would have definitely made the whole kit that much better for sure, but I am ok with the stock tank. It’s hidden and can’t be seen.
@@Scoobyfreak86 Agreed. Shaving weight is my thought on it.
is this subbie already sold? miles and price? is it already tuned?
It's still for sale. DM me on instagram if you are interested in more details please. Thank you.
hello,
I installed mine last night..what is the threaded stud and nut for that you did not use? there is a threaded hole in side of the tank I am assuming it goes there?
Yes, you do not need that unless you are running the Cobb front mount intercooler.
@@Scoobyfreak86 gotcha thanks
Will this affect warranty at all? That things sexy
It depends on your dealer. It’s just relocating the tank over a bit, so it shouldn’t cause an issue. But if the car overheat or something coolant related, they could put the blame on it for modifying.
@@Scoobyfreak86 makes sense. Appreciate the info!
How do you manage to keep the engine bay spotless? Yours looks like it just came out from the showroom
Thanks! Just a simple wipe down after every wash.
Does it work be fót 2015 wrx?
Yes
Is the install any different with a fmic?
It is not. Same install. Although, it does come with a bracket to use on the piping. This is actually included with the Cobb fmic kit.
@@Scoobyfreak86 thank you.
What size titanium bolts did u use for this?
To be honest, I’m not sure. They were spares I had laying around that fit.
Thx for the reply, I too am obsessed with burnt titanium products and find it hard to stop haha
Q: So how do you know if the coolant is low and/or needs to be topped off a bit? And aren’t you selling the STI for a Bimmer? Most people who are not sponsored would be parting the car out instead of adding more mods in. That’s one serious mod addiction. 😊
I’ve never had to fill it in my ownership. Just check with a light and your able to tell in 5 seconds.
I’m not sponsored by anyone. Everything you see is purchased by me.
The car is for sale, but I’m not pushing it. I’m still enjoying the car while I own it. And that includes modifying.
Don't sell it, you'll regret it
Keep the STI and get a overlander!
Yo I just looked up password. It's out of business 🤔 that really sucks.
Yeah they have been oob for a while now actually. Shame since they made such nice pieces.
Now the battery Looks Out of place
Yeah get an optima a good ol yellow top will last for years
The OEM is plastic to save weight.
Plastic is a consumable. Cheaper to produce mass quantity. It has nothing to do with weight savings for this car.
@@Scoobyfreak86 You're right but I believe the aftermarket part you're installing is a bit heavier, the same goes with installing metal washer fluid reservoir would probably add few KG to the overall weight of the car. In performance cars I'm sure you're familiar with the principle "less is more" no matter how negligible that is.
