    I'm getting quoted $1,000 for my mechanic and other mechanics that to replace an exhaust manifold converter would u recommend I do it myself or go through the mechanic I have a 09 Camry le 2.4L 4 cylinder

      Honestly that’s a huge amount! I’d change one out of a Camry for no more than $200! The Camry has the same cat as this one in the video and it removes the same way! I’d say if you’ve worked on cars before you should change it out yourself! All you’ll need is an exhaust manifold gasket and the donut gasket for the bottom end of the cat. It’s super easy! I’d say a 2/10 in difficulty.

      @@tonytorques do you a have a recommendation or link where I could buy the best oem manifold converter so I can pass emissions this is causing a p0420 code

      @@ttdmatooloo5551 yes well I work at O’Reillys so I usually buy my parts there. Never had bad luck with any of the parts! You could also tell them you go to school at the local college and you’ll usually get a discount! Also there’s a product we sell there called cataclean that sometimes will unplug the cat if it just started plugging up. There’s also another product CRC makes called guaranteed to pass emissions cleaner, it claims that it will let you pass emissions testing! Haven’t needed it myself but might make a future video on it 🤔

    Can you say that the rav4's catalytic converter is hard to steal compared to other cars'?They stole my tucson CC I believe in less than 5minutes.

      @tonytorques  Před 2 lety +1

      @goodcenturion Yes! It would be harder to steal since you would have to cut the upper flange off and there’s no room to do so! You would have to open the hood to even try. I’ve heard of that! Usually if the cat is on the lower mid area, all they have to do is lift the car up with with a jack and then chop it off since it would only take two cuts. It’s crazy!

      @@tonytorques Thanks! I traded the tucson with 2015 rav4 after spending 3k for CC replacement.I dont want to be paying for another one because you are right its CC is in low mid area and they just cut 2 wires to pull it out!

    Are there 2 cat on the rav4 under the car as well

      I believe there’s only that top one that’s bolted to the manifold, other than that there’s a resonator below but some of the newer models will have another instead of the resonator
