  • Although the Hightower V3 has been available on the market for over a year now, we wanted to drop a detailed video going over some of the details of the bike for anyone interested in learning about this versatile, mid-travel trail bike.
The Hightower V3 is a full 29'', 145mm rear, 150mm front travel bike made to ride on a wide variety of terrain. It has just enough travel to handle technical terrain, yet not so much travel that it steals the fun out of more chill trails. As Santa Cruz puts it, the Hightower V3 is the "mountain bike, distilled."
If you're interested in some general information about this bike, join us as we go over some details of this model and why it might be a bike worth having in your stable.

I just got a Santa Cruz V3 and it's literally the best bike that I've owned out of the 10 over the past 6 years. It's so comfortable and it jumps and corners and climbs super good

Such a fun looking bike! The perfect amount of travel to have fun on just about every trail. Might eventually buy one myself someday, but for now my Tallboy and Megatower cover enough ground. Thanks for the comment!

As much would love to ride Carbon Full suspension bikes, Santa Cruz is expensive even for me, and they are simply amazing.

Very informative and well done video. I have the v3 purple gloss and it's a truly solid bike. I am 176cm tall and got a size L. Took a little getting used to coming from a v3 Bronson size M, but the greater stability is something I appreciate at my ripe old age of 53.

Thanks for the positive words! Glad you're enjoying the new Hightower. I also had a Bronson V3 and LOVED it, then I ended up getting a Megatower V1 and have transitioned to a Tallboy V5 and Megatower V2. Hightower looks like a mighty fine bike and the color you have is one of my favorite colorways that I've seen SC release. Have fun out there!

What's the frame ratio in terms of shock compression? Is this frame ok for 115kg+ rider ?

I would buy one if they offered the updated VPP geo model with the alloy frame.

We're not sure what their plan is for aluminum frames, haven't seen an option for any since the Glovebox was implemented. Would be a cool option for those looking to save some money and not have to worry about compromising carbon...

@@jensonusabicycles Def. SC is on the top of their game with their carbon bikes, however i feel like they chucked the poorer consumer to the curb because of their choices. I would love the 7th gen V10 in alloy more than CF, not just due to finnancial constraints but also its strength. Alloy frames are easier to replace than CF ones. Weight is more irrelevant in dh than in other discipline, so this choice leaves me questioning everything. Btw, other companies like Propain and Canyon do offer CF and AL on their models, just that the alloy Canyon bike has a different suspension setup.
