The only player I'm up for debating is Gary Neville because i couldn't think of any great Premier league right backs. Vidic and Ferdinand was a close call but i had to go with Vidic as i think he was a better defender. I had to choose between Lampard and Gerrard and for me Lampard did more in the PL than Gerrard.

Absolutely he was. Many pundits said he would have been possibly the greatest CB of his generation. It was him and Rio all the way, but his knees failed him unfortunately. Needs more resume, many players affected by injuries just can't stack up against guys who played for years and years.

"maybe carvalho". Vidic in his prime was the best CB I've ever seen. Ferdinand was world class for 6 years and he still won a title while he was past his best and played every PL game while doing so. Carvalho was a very good CB in his Chelsea days though but I'd prefer both Vidic and Ferdinand above him especially as a partnership.

Carvahlo, Terry and Stam were/are three great centre backs all well-versed in the dark arts of defensive play. I used to hate Carvahlo until I realised that this guy would almost kill an opponent rather than let him pass him and in some cases nearly did ! I'd have Ledley King in there before Kompany, City's most influential player? Kun Aguero must have been injured the days Kompany was being influential. A decent ball playing centre back but makes mistakes and has little enough to be doing because City's dominant attack has killed off their opponent.
Desailly and McGrath could both have a case to be mentioned in that list though The Black Prince of Inchicore was past his peak in the Premier League era.
