    We won't always have a supermarket around the corner, so we should probably learn to find our food and learn to use the tools at hand.
    Cheap and reliable, so give yourself an advantage and learn a new skill.

    Good vid Wayne pal 👍🏻 your rite when explaining distance , when a person is smashing it at 10 meters try taking one step back every time u hit and a miss go forward one step and stay there till u get 2 in a row then one step back and so on ,practicing this will make u from a 10meter shooter to a 15meter shooter very quick just don’t get over confident because the nxt day u try it chances are your back to square one but wat your gaining is knowledge with distance that’s something money just can’t buy. A natty which is a sling cut off a tree and bandid can be the exact same as a custom frame tat some ppl charge disgraceful prices, I’m all for custom and nice frames but shop around and just cos one certain maker makes beauty’s But is way outta your price range there’s lots of others that will make the very same frame u were gona pay a extremely high price for when in all honesty it’s not the frame at all it’s the man shooting it ! Yes a good frame can make u a sharper shooter but so will a comfy natty food for taut folks 😉bottom line tho go out have a couple bandsets made up head for a forest get permission to cut a poorly branch u don’t wanna cut a healthy tree for a fork please Have a lil tink before u even take your saw out ! Grip the fork u want see how it feels if nice cut it longer everywhere handle both forks u can take off but u can’t put back on. Find we’re u wana finally cut your fork ends keep both level and your handle just cut to yur size then take the edge off the forktips and smooth as much as possible if you’ve a lil bit of sandpaper it’ll make all the difference then cut 2 vshape notches outta your forks for extra grip when tieing your bands on checkout wrap and tuck you’ll only need a single piece of string and 2 thin strips for rapping your bands on with make sure your bands are level bend yur pouch in half’s after u tie your first band on keep it exact to the tied one level the second band up to when your pouch is evenly folded in half’s just like if u we’re about to take a shot without the ammo in then start rapping your last band on if done rite I bet my life wrap and tuck with some string to tuck therhin band is safe as houses once everything s done rite and both bands are level ,then if your lucky enuf u could be bringing home a pheasant winner winner chicken dinner altho I wouldn’t ad vise until u can hit a 20/30mm spinner atleast 5outta10 from 10 meters/yards. But to bring a dinner home from a branch of a tree is one of the best feelings you’ll ever have , I’ve still got my pheasant tail and rabbits and squirrel s there 30 years old about just keep in mind safety a pair of clear eye protection lads can be the difference from been blind in one eye to a cracked lens seriously guys it’s all about fun but there’s a element of danger if not takin serious happy shootin y’all from the green isle🍀🍀👍🏻

    Judging distance is the real trick when hunting with a slingshot. A 10 metre is entirely different to a 35 metre shot.

    30yd rabbit shot amazing, I've seen many a 12ft pound airguns hit a rabbits head and it's still fkd off lmao, we really need to double it to 24,even France has 15 ,we're stuck with a poxy 12,it's just not humane at distance.

    It’s a great shame to shoot at tree trunks! Damage to bark lets in disease and weakens the tree, so should never be done. Great video otherwise, pests control is vital, particularly non-natives like grey squirrels and a few wounded escapees in the process is just unfortunate.

  • @MKChase-uj9vx

    Loads of skill but not an ethical way to kill live game... too many rabbits etc. limp off injured when catapults are involved.
    This guys good, no doubt, but loads of people are encouraged to try this and it's just a shitty way to injure things. I suppose that's why I stopped shooting things with catapults when I was about 10.
    Get a grip Fieldsports.

      Couldn’t agree more. Why advocate using a catapult it’s only encouraging people to go about injuring things. I always thought it was our lovely ‘travelling ‘ community who used them. Not a field sport in my eyes.

      @@specialk3373 Hi
      I just don't get why a respectable channel is getting involved in this sort of shit.
      Ok... it brings in viewers, so raises cash funds, I get it, but it's totally counter to the responsible/ethical image of hunting.
      Far too many body shot rabbits and squirrels run off injured... end of.
      Damaging to the channel's reputation in the long run. Lots of likes from the idiots that are into it, but short sighted of the producers.

    • @Leocernask8
      @Leocernask8 Před 5 lety +1

      You have no idea how hard the hit with right ammo, Ive killed big hares with body shots, all about using right setup, a heavy taper and 12mm leads can make 40+ joules of energy

    • @MKChase-uj9vx
      @MKChase-uj9vx Před 5 lety +1

      @@Leocernask8 Hi Pal
      I have every idea how hard a slingshot hits and I don't dispute that they have more than enough power to kill at 25-30 yards.
      The issue here is safe repeatable accuracy.
      In the video we see an extremely skilled shot manage a 2 1/2 inch group at 30 yards which is impressive.... for a catapult... but is bloody awful for a rifle.
      The fact is, a catapult is inconsistent; steel balls wang off sideways and miss their intended point of aim... that's just the way it is.
      A rifle will give a consistent 1inch group at 40-50 yards and in the hands of a good shot a half inch group. You can't get close to that with a slingshot.
      Like I say, it's a shitty risk to take with live game.
      Just my opinion buddy.

      Im a Game shooter as well as other shooting sports. Same as mr Martain here is as well mate. As for poaching catapults. Air rifles. Baited traps are all used on game birds. If a poacher wants em hell have em. Catapults are just another form of shooting sports. And a fascinating one at that . And also a high level of skill is needed at the top of the game as is demonstrated by people like wayne and many others on CZcams.
