  • I can’t take credit for capturing any of the footage featured in this video, however I am responsible for editing this compilation! The original members of the CZcams garbage trucks community will recall the early username Aussiegarbo13, with many videos posted from the Penrith contract in particular. At some point this channel got deleted and the user dropped off the radar, although he was still around watching everything that was being posted and continues to do so today. I know why this sudden exit occurred, but I won’t go into that =D The problem here was that all the uploads were gone from CZcams, and everything completely disappeared when this individual’s computer ended up crashing with nothing recovered. Sadly, this meant the total loss of certain truck footage which nobody else caught and won’t be able to ever again, including the initial Visy recycling fleet operating in Penrith and the old council and JJ Richards side arms that worked in Hawkesbury. On the bright side, some video clips that were last recorded and never posted on CZcams were still available on that trusty JVC camera, which I recently plugged into my laptop and backed up in the form of this 16min video.
There was quite a substantial amount taken of these few trucks, which I watched through and carefully chose the best bits to produce this upload, being a big and final share of Aussiegarbo13 action. We start off with a classic Blacktown Sidepak, see a little bit of a Blacktown recycler, then there’s a Fairfield garbage clip, followed by Penrith organics and a couple shots of both Hawkesbury 35m recyclers to conclude. The single clip of Fairfield was the one thing posted previously, also notably captured in the same suburb on the same Thursday in April 2009 when I videoed Fairfield recycling for the first time - more would’ve been taken of this council MkIV, but this driver was finishing up. As for Penrith organics, this was some of the first FOGO collecting that happened in August 2009, even got the fresh body signage and the old SITA logo to speak of the date. All the Blacktown and Hawkesbury stuff was done on a Monday in January 2010, the Sidepak footage was definitely the coolest score that morning. I hope you viewers get some enjoyment out of this latest upload on behalf of an original CZcamsr, be sure to watch this in the 720p quality too!

How good is this Mitch. Preserving the industry’s history way to go.

Amazing to see how we've gone from operators in this video to mostly steering wheel attendants with seldom few operators on the job now.

I’m happy you were able to preserve his footage Mitch. Great you were able to put it back up on youtube for us to have a look at here and there :)
my favourite by far was definitely 061, giving great respects to 062 its similarities are very clear. Though seeing it in Penrith gives a whole greater vibe, unfortunately no one was able to film it during its time down at Eurobodalla and Shoalhaven.
The Fairfield MKiV, is another liked one by me, giving reference to SL77, the ex Sutherland!
Some how the quality of the video just seems almost the same as how i remember the old days in my mind, which is probably the best part of these older videos.

Well this is definitely a blast from the past. This is bloody awesome! That fairfield mkiv sounded good. Good to see a penrith green waste euro 4 in there too. Not much footage of them around.

That Hino Side-Pak sure was a treat, the quality operating on display too was an added bonus.
It’s funny to think that the majority of those Blacktown, Fairfield and Hawkesbury bins, would probably still be in circulation today too. Would be interesting to know how many times each bin has been emptied and by how many different trucks🤔.
    Nice work Jordan (and Mitch)

  • @SL731AndTheSpareTrucks

In 2016, it was Garbage day and the same truck ( Hino Truck ) came to do my red bin so i didnt think of it that much, but playfully he was about to pretend grab me like a bin and i got scared, then stupidly i yelled AHHHH!😂😂 And ran from the truck so i watched him collect the bins.

Top notch work here mate, 10/10 for preserving more footage from this golden era. Super cool to see a variety of trucks although what was particularly cool to see in my opinion was the Blacktown recycling truck. Also cool to see the Hawkesbury recyclers when they were still quite young as nowadays they’re considered pretty old. Top shelf production here mate.

I'm happy to inform you I have a 10min video to come of Blacktown recycling when those cool single axles were still at work, something I took almost 14 years ago! haha

awesome video mate, thanks for sharing these golden memories with us. theres not many videos of the penrith green euro 4s that i’ve seen so that was really nice to see and i loved that blacktown truck 206, driven by a very satisfying operator.

Sidepak, Bucher, Superior pak and Richards.
And two bin system which was still had common place back then to three bin system as what Penrith did and the first Sydney council to implement Fogo! Which is where all other councils are going nowadays!
