The 30th birthday/wedding one sounds like she's in a one sided friendship. The friend seems like they don't want anything to do with her until it will benefit said friend. I would just quietly phase that person out of my life and look at adding better friends into my life. Take that birthday trip.

Regarding the uncle and niece I’d say everyone sucks here. The parents should monitor their kid and the uncle shouldn’t have overstepped.
I think the youngest gets out of doing every chore ever cuz they are the baby. I am the oldest and did the harder chores and knew all the basics long before college (the youngest in our household didn’t). My opinion.
Agreed! Every family is different, but my youngest sibling was never forced to clean like we were because my parents were “too tired” to force the issue. That sibling still doesn’t do their own laundry or cleaning (moved back in with my parents after college - my mom takes care of it all instead because it bothers her but doesn’t bother them). I think Rachel is in the minority as a youngest kid who was expected to do the same chores, but like I said every family is different.
Since this went up the day after Election Day - Ohio passed Issue 1 (Protecting Right to Reproductive Care/Choice) and Issue 2 (Legalization of a certain substance)!!!! I could rant on both of those alone but I'm so pleasantly surprised that both passed!!!!!

For the 30th birthday/wedding one: I would wonder if birthday girl is single and bridesmaids aren’t. I say that because I have had a lot of friends boyfriends, etc. hate for them to hang out with me because I’m single. It sounds weird, but dudes are like that. A lot of them. I don’t think either of the two best friends did anything-if I had to guess, it’s something with the soon-to-be husband.

I learned how to do my laundry at age 10. I had just read the kit kitteridge American girl doll books and kit did her own laundry and I wanted to be like her. I told my mom I wanted to do my own laundry and she said absolutely... no arguments from her!!

Millenials did have memories wiped from them. Facebook is sneakily doing it every day. And idk bout anyone else but got into my old MySpace back before COVID & they deleted over half photos videos from profiles for no reason.
December 1st is early enough for Christmas music. I've got quite a few gifts already too. I do not watch shorts though. I have all my videos saved on my computer.

Re: The 11-year old Tik Tok situation, I totally support the uncle's decision to report his niece. #1 Regardless of what her parents think, she is NOT old enough to post on Tik Tok, according to the site's established rules/guidelines.
#2 Tik Tok apparently makes the accounts of 13-15 year olds private by default. Based on what the uncle said, it sounds like his niece's account is not private. If this is the case, then she has essentially no protection, at age 11, from total strangers accessing her Tik Tok page. That puts her at significant risk IMO.
#3 As far as I'm concerned, anyone who knows of a child under 13 using a fraudulent Tik Tok account has the right to report said account. So, on that point, I respectfully disagree with Rachel's contention that the uncle didn't have the right to report his niece's account. IMO, he not only did the right thing, he had the right to do it BECAUSE she made a fraudulent account in order to bypass the age restrictions & post on TIk Tok.

I actually think the lady with the cookie is kind of an asshole. If the real problem is with the bf not helping out with planning the trip, she should say that. Don’t blame it on the cookie. It’s manipulative and counterproductive. He might have no idea, especially if she’d previously said she enjoyed planning trips.
im 16 when i was 11 i got Instagram this other app im not gonna say what all happened but 100s of creepy men and me being a stupid kid it was not good and i still have trauma from that time. uncle did what he had to do
