- The Data Analytics profession is often glamourized online and this often gives a wrong idea of what it actually means to work as a Data Analyst. And to me, the best way to understand what data professionals do in their day to day is actually looking at what they do with their laptops all day.
đ€ SO WHAT
In this video, I'll show you exactly what data analysts like myself do all day. We will look at meetings, calls, tasks, responsibilities and harsh reality.

Is there a common 5 to 10 ad hoc queries that get requested frequently?
If you aren't certain how to answer an ad hoc question, do you use AI or ask your manager or other? Meaning if you're uncertain how to write the.
I struggle understanding how you'd answer why sales are down. I understand you can query and see the sales figures drop, but how would you find out the reason?
Thanks for the kind words! Common ad hoc queries often involve sales performance, customer demographics, and product trends (but as always really depends on the context - if you are a data analyst in finance you will probably don't really care about customer demographics) . If unsure how to approach a query, consulting with more experienced colleagues or using AI tools can be helpful and there is nothing wrong with that - with time you will become more confident.
And to understand reasons behind a sales drop, you'd typically analyze related factors such as market trends, promotional activities, competitor actions, and customer feedback - there might be so many variables affecting sales so definitely not an easy task. Hope this helps đ
Good one
Thanks đ
Hey lore can you suggest some advanced skills for data analyst that standout in the crowd than other people.
super good question!! I would say 1. cloud platforms like AWS and Azure (not many analysts are proficient in these and they will become more and more popular) and 2. Python (most analysts have a basic understanding of it but again not proficient)
@@loresowhat what more I can learn in python may I know.
@@Pikachu22057 for example data visualization libraries like Plotly and Dash or master Pandas and Numpy for data analysis
@@loresowhat ha ha I already learned this one đ

Thank you for these videos! How did you get a job with no degree? Im assuming you don't have one as your bio indicates being self taught. I am considering this field but it seems most job applications prefer a bachelors :/
Thanks for the comment đ I have a degree in business but apart from an exam in maths I didnât do anything related to data analytics and taught myself that.
