Please keep in mind there is no special formula and "right" or "wrong" way to make webtoons. All of my tips in the video are simply gathered from my own personal observations of what makes a webtoon successful. Feel free to use these tips as a guide if you don't know where to start, but this is not the ONLY way to make webtoons! Having fun, experimenting, and doing what works best for you is the most important thing!

I plan to make my webtoon for a year and then release it weekly just so I wouldn't have to worry about meeting deadlines. Does this seem like a good idea or does Webtoon prefer the creator to make a chapter weekly? I know that some artists have buffers but wasn't sure if having the entire story already made was worth it.
Entirely up to you! We won’t know if you created it in advance or not so whatever works best for you and your workflow :)
hi probably late, entirely made stories are great for you and your audience that way you can twerk any details and not worry about deadlines just small minor stuff, just like any animator would do when releasing animations with seasons, takes them 3 years to make then release it (ofc also because it is animation)
i’d suggest making in advance especially if you have a job, college etc. because life happens

I wanna make a webtoon, but I won't make the art too clean because three reasons:
1. I can't draw that well
2. it's really hard to make it clean when you draw with your finger
3. I read manga on mobile usually and it isn't the most clean all the time and I like it
Practice drawing your drawings has to be at least a bit decent or have a really good story
I know the finger drawing pain but as long as you can tell what’s happening and it has a good story then it should be fine

Can you do a video of tips on how to find person who would draw the comic if you are just a writer or other way around, not to mention how to find the rest of the team?
I'm making a webtoon set in the Favelas of Brasil about soccer, yes, sport/drama. I worry about it not being mainstream enough but then again, if we all made the same things, each thing stops being special, so just diving in head first 😂😂

I want to make a WEBTOON but my art sucks
Maybe practice a bit and know the basics of how to make Ur art look good !! It doesn't have to be incredible but as long as the pictures are decent then the readers will probably enjoy it as long as the story is good

I wanna make a webtoon about my story but as an OC, have chapters like 1-5 my kid life, 5 at school, some abt acomplishments, abt my family, struggles, my first love, how I found out I am lesbian, acceptance, a pretty big comic and idk where to start, my art isnt good enough and I only have a phone, maybe I'll write now but make it later, btw I'm 17yo, and meeting deadlines is hard

well I know many authors which aren't American, and they still work as originals on webtoon US, but also I know that every language has they own staff and usually has originals but just for those languages, example: the Spanish webtoon has various original webtoons, but those aren't translated in other languages so u can try to look first in ur native language or French

What are your thoughts on having episodes prior to the main story where the characters can be introduced?
I'm curious about this because True Beauty has an episode 0 that serves to introduce Ju Gyeong
Do you have any tips for creating transitions? What visual effects will help with that?
I make my comic for almost a year and I knew so little when starting and my art was so scratchy. Now my art style is a bit better - even though it still has a long way to improve - but I am concerned about that if people look at the very first episode and stop reading because of the artstyle. What can I do for that?😢

9:47 But how is the technical part of this done when you’re in the process of creating the artwork? How do you make sure that the panel will properly fit on the phone screen, and that the panels are properly spaced to have enough room above & below?
late reply but the recommended photo size is on webtoon, plus you can preview it to see if the framing works well before you upload your chapter
Is there a better way to make people go see it?
Im seeking for an opinion about having a "prologue" or just dive in straight into chapter 1. For me i think prologue is debatable wheter if its needed or not because as its a prologue its basically just an introduction of your story to hook the readers in (also basically the summary you wrote of how the story started) or maybe just dive in into the first chapter with no prior introductions at all because you have already said it in your story summary (but idk if some people do read it because i also have the tendency to just dive into the first chapter and forget to read the summary on what the story is about) so yea do you recommend prologue?
Just an additional info, I'm making some sort of fantasy mystery thriller (what am i doing) so i can't seem to start the story just yet because of this one particular problem
10:30 in my opinion this makes the panneling really boring and its my primary concern with webtoons. too much space wasted, i dont really see many webtoons panneling in interesting ways unlike comics/mangas

really late reply but the safest option if you don’t know is just to say it in a different way, that also brings a little comedy into it. like Nettoon or something
