I love the icy eerie sounds of the contrasting violins at the start ---- really original.
I wonder if the orchestra went really light on the strings to get that shound.

I recall seeing this man in concert. Such a joyous night.
I was lucky enough to see this live and I believe he did what no one else yet had could: made me experience this piece as if I had never heard it before. The magnificence of the old master and the vibrancy of the performer

I’m not used to this version of Vivaldi’s masterpiece, but I do find it interesting. Definitely unique. I wouldn’t say it’s better than the usual, but it’s definitely a unique interpretation of the piece.
Max Richter comes to mind when it comes to his interpretation of Winter. It is a very different take that's for sure. Inventive.
I love Vivaldi's 4 seasons, But I say my favorite season is Winter. The 1st and 2nd Mvt. 2nd Mvt sounds Amazing with this guy!

I think the entire orchestra plays well, but the excessive use of ponticello and slowing down of the trill section just isn’t working - it sounds uncoordinated as opposed to stylized imo
Not a big fan of this interpretation. 7:47 to 7:57 is just not good.

Nah, the interpretation here is fine with me. I seem to agree with you on the beginning trills and the performance of the second movement though.
I suppose that Red Priest would be glad that his music is still alive and has millions of interpretation. And how can you know that Red Priest wouldn't enjoy the craziness of this interpretation? ;)
No need for stupid things like the idiotic dresses. Just perform the music.
