Whilst metal might not seem like so it does in fact cross at least two of these marks, henceforth it can be considered music and not noise. It just captures the emotions of this wonderful piece better than any other. We´re so lucky to be able to hear all of this... :)
This is one, if not best, performance of Vivaldi's Winter version I have ever heard. The majesty that escapes from her fingers is simply incomparable. Thank you Mary Samuelsen.
I come back and watch this again & again, “Summer” too. Never was the phrase “a work of art” more appropriately used, in my opinion, than with Mari’s playing. I have played for 30+ yrs and listened to many of the great violinists. She’s in the league with Pearlman, Stern, & Menuhin as the excellence of her playing is beyond many if not most of her contemporaries I feel. Sheer power & beauty that I am fortunate to hear & watch in my lifetime.
I truly don’t understand how some people are not moved by classical music. I guess it’s a matter of beauty being in the eye of the beholder. I know, for me, there is no other artistic expression that can have me giggling nearly hysterically from pure joy one second, and bursting into tears the very next.
It's boring. And slow. But this. This...and "Summer" by Vivaldi have brought up emotions inside me only godlike music could. Do you have any recommendations? I think it's the fast violin and sudden changes (in..tone?) I like! It's mesmerizing.

Because it takes work and appreciation to enjoy this music, it’s not a 3 minute pop song, it takes careful listening to listen to it, it takes years of experience to play it.
My most Favorite of Vivaldi's winter versions, so agressive and smooth at the same time, perfect timing, perfect synchronization, elegant and intelligent. Just beautiful from all❤️
Aggressive is a good way to describe it. I love this very much as I do Cynthia Freivogal's interpretation and performance. It is most instructive and. deeply rewarding to compare and contrast these two agents of wonder.

Nah - the "100-th time club" here too 😜😜 But it was an easy pick for me - the Winter (even though I hate the season itsefl), second is Summer (my favourite season also), third is Autumn and lastly - Spring. But over the 20 years of listening to the four seasons - I realised that all four of them have their own charm. But as a tempo and rythm - Winter is a clear winner for me (as preference, that is).
Was driving to work very early, it was still dark and no other single car was in the road and I forgot the volume was high on… This played automatically (I don’t know why or how) and really HITTED ME!! I almost died and maybe didn’t because I was to busy crying my soul out… Its so overwhelmingly beautiful!!!

What a fabulous, fantastic, mesmerizing, magnificent, spectacular, & superb young violinist she is! W/ no qualms at all, she must be one of the virtuosos in terms of the dexterity in violin. Despite her youth, she has right tempo & undivided timing w/ precision ( needless to say, she nailed every single note.) So who could resist not to watch this impeccable performance again & again. I have to say that mari somehow makes this piece become 3 dimensional, it's not because she plays the piece slowly. she is faster than others but she still has room for detail. I have compared Mari's playing with 33 other violinists playing the same piece. It is a relief to hear Mari's interpretation. free, interesting and relevant. perhaps this is the first time the four seasons have been interpreted correctly! What to do with 33 CDs that are now unbearable to listen to? Best Thomas
about the others, are you sure "unbearable" isn't a little too much saying?? I agree this interpretation is fantastic but let's not go too far in depreciation of some others !!
This recording production in it's entirety, sound quality, camera panning in and out and recording individual orchestra members at precisely the correct moments and, of course, Mari herself, make this my favorite CZcams music video.

This is beyond an Intelligent Performance of Vivaldi's, Four Seasons: Winter; it's an Extremely Passionate Performance, with flawless synchronization. I've been following Ms. Samuelsen's musical performances, finding it wonderful how comfortable she is with the Traditional Classical, such as Vivaldi; as well as the modern Violin Composers... ~~CR~~
I now watched Perlman and Hope. And this one here just killed it because she's so much more aggressive, especially down in the lower notes. Seriously. How can the part from 3:00 on not bring anyone to tears. I am sitting here being all over the place. And her facial expressive is everything. - Unbelievable.
This is Mari Samuelsen....soul and brains all together. That's why she is the best on Vivaldi !!!Respect!!

This is, by far, the best performance of Winter I have ever heard. Mari Samuelsen performs magnificently, sublimely, exhilaratingly.
My favorite is Chloe Chua's Menuhin Competition finals, it's so delicate and the tempo is perfect, not too fast 🙈

I've been following Ms. Samuelsen's musical performances, finding it wonderful how comfortable she is with the Traditional Classical, such as Vivaldi; as well as the modern Violin Composers... ~~CR~~

I now watched Perlman and Hope. And this one here just killed it because she's so much more aggressive, especially down in the lower notes.
Seriously. How can the part from 3:00 on not bring anyone to tears. I am sitting here being all over the place. And her facial expressive is everything. - Unbelievable.
