Chris Martin was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Following her fathers death he wrote the song to help her through her grief.
Martin himself described it as probably the most important song we’ve ever written. It relays that in times of trouble we can end up turning away help from friends and loved ones and reminds us that those same people want to be there for us not out of a sense of obligation or duty but out of their love and care for us. That they may not be able to fix us but in times of trouble we should let them at least try.

Coldplay is about as iconic as The Beatles! So shocked you have never heard of them!!!! The lead singer was married to Gweneth Paltrow and wrote this song for her when she lost her mom. They have also become very close friends with BTS and did a song with them called My Universe. Chris(lead singer) also gave Jin from BTS his song The Astronaut when he left for the army.. Keep listening to them, their music is epic.....
