- Hey guys this repair officially fixed the dreadful wind noise in the 2007 escalade ext. I believe this is a problem for every 07-14 Cadillac escalade due to the fact the windows have a chrome outer trim piece that loosens over time causing wind to find its way into the cabin. I also changed the outer door gaskets for both front driver and passenger because i noticed those were not creating a good seal anymore which also lead to some air bleeding through.
This repair works! the wind noise is completely gone and i finally have a quiet cabin! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I just order mine from the GM dealership to replace the originals that are worn out on my 09 EXT. Come to find out these will solve the annoying wind sound. Thanks for making this video.
I notice terrible wind noise in my 07 ext. This is what I needed. I have been wondering for years where it's coming from. I absolutely love my truck except for that annoying wind noise. Thanks for your help.
No problem - thanks for responding (excellent video - helped me a lot)
Great video
Thank You for your effort.
PLEASE PROVIDE PART NUMBERS! THANK YOU!
Where did you get your parts
Thank you very much for the video 😄👍
Any tips on getting the interior trim piece to go back over the rubber/felt outer trim? Like at 16:00
Where did you get the parts? Does that piece include the window channel seal?
I'm gonna try felt pile weather stripping to see if that helps the noise. I'll update the post when it's done
What do the clips look like that hold that piece onto the door?
I need new clips for mine if they are available for purchase.
did you add the white stuff behind the door, or was it already there to begin with?
Where did you get the items
Did this fix the noise or did you also have to add silicone again? Wondering if GM updated the part to fix this issue or not.
So did that fix the wind noise?
Great
We need the test drive review
You think it will fit the 07 escalade suv
Awesome video showing the replacement of the exterior reveal moldings on the EXT. Thanks for being so detailed and letting us know what to be cautious of and what to take our time with. I've been looking at replacing mine for some time now initially for aesthetic reasons because with age they do seriously fad pretty bad and they begin to to chip. After watching your video I know know that's where the wind noise is coming from. One thing I did not realize is that you had to literally take apart the inner door just to get to the outer moldings. How long did it take you to completely change out just the front driver side door?
Be careful a solid 45 minutes just don’t break your new door trim, the key is to take your time don’t rush it. Once you do one door you’ll get a feel and finish the others faster
@@ThatShortGuy91 Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I'll be sure to take plenty of time when I start this project.
A much cheaper way to achieve essentially the same result is to R&R the bezel's deteriorated foam seal. Everything else is hard plastic. Just be careful when removing the bezel so you don't crack it. You may need double sided tape for the wide edge as the attachment tabs break easily. The side mirrors have an additional attach point above the top bolt. A quick downward strike on the mirror after loosening the nuts will dislodge it. And the door gaskets cross-sectional shape can be improved by pulling a 3/8" nylon rope through the large opening that runs the length of the seal.
Do you have a source for purchasing the proper foam seal that’s needed to restore them?
Do you have link for outer panel?
do you have a part number or site to go to where you go these from?
Did it even no they sale that part
What is the name / model #'s of the parts you purchased? How much did they cost?
Around 1000 the window trim isn’t cheap I went to my local dealer to buy them they are different dependent on your vin number
I found them on ebay the most was 150.00 each
Hey, where did you buy the window trim
Gm dealer. I gave them my vin and told them the part I needed
How much did you spent
This is an excessive and pricey fix especially if none of the clips were broken causing wind noise. The seals aren’t needed as well unless leaking in the cabin. My clips were broken on the driver side because I locked myself out and needed to pry open that section. The vid is informative nonetheless because I saw the part on eBay for awhile but was unaware on the difficulty of changing it. Wrapping the pillars in black is a much better option and won’t fade overtime. Don’t buy the pillars overlay because the quality is horrible.
Where did you get those parts from?
Love the EXT. Wish they took out that useless side vents
Get the avalanche then!
So did you fixed the problem? After 28... and nothing.😂
