- Today I was tasked with cleaning an old wood paneling that had never cleaned before. When I arrive it looked to be pretty simple and easy but after spending quite a bit of time on it, I realized there was more to it. Sometimes things like this happens and cleaning is not the answer. Sometime things needs to be completely restores, repainted or overall replaced. Hope you guys are enjoying the content, please like, subscribe, share, and hit the bell!

What did the client end up saying, if you don't mind me asking?
Yea curious to know too, and what would fix it
@Roman I explained to the client that the wood needs to be repainted and that paint is severely oxidized. They were very nice and happy with my honesty to the point that they paid their bill and added a tip on it. That right there took me by surprise 😮!
@troublesagreat
The oxidized paint can be cleaned up by an array of other cleaning solutions like cleansol BC That I mentioned at the end, or Ox knox, or LAs totally awesome. Some of these chemicals may require brushing the entire 2 story thing.
Ultimately, I am not interested in doing oxidation removal although it's a great upsell. Some things I'm just not into and have lots of work on the table.
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash that's what I'm talking about. It's crazy, but I've learned being straight forward and honest with people works. You earn there trust, word of mouth and a tip! Lol very nice!
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWashAs a painter, I would have tried TSP. I usually brush it on then powerwash it off (or rinse it off). It does well at prepping the surface before paint.
@scottm4042 true enough. Hopefully they got someone to get that off and paint it. I gave them the options.
That is nuts!! Time to paint and or stain. Great job as always. You work with what you are given and that was not giving much. At least all the dirt came off. And, I say that is a win. 😀😀
Yea man it was way past gone. Nonetheless they gave a tip and paid the bill in full. That's what happens when you're thorough and honest.
Damnit!! Haha aight thanks Boss. I Got to finish a roof clean tomorrow for a family friend. I couldn’t hit the peak of the roof from the ladder. Going to climb on the roof for the first time bruh. Ish is a little intimidating. 😅
Lmao you got this!!! 🤣
No matter what Cliff you always do a top notch job my friend. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Hey mate!
We live in a very dusty area here in Australia. When we do house washes we often have to scrub with a very soft brush on a pole to get rid of the dust and then rinse off. We have tried several surfactant and pressure. Doesn't help, sometimes u have to use good ol elbow grease.
That is true. Definitely wasn't interested in brushing a 2 story wood structure lol. Someone else can go make that money and kill their shoulders 🤣🤣. I'm blessed that I can afford to pass on certain jobs now that I've built a stable business 🙏🏽
Great job Cliff !! 😊it is what it is . See you in the next one.
Thanks 👍
I agree. Oxidation can go either way. You dont really know until you get into it whether the paint has failed or its just a layer of ox. If the paint has failed and you've set the expectation, instant fail!
Bingo! ✔️
Good job brother! Blessings!
Thanks! You too!
I appreciate you posting a job that didn’t go as planned. It’s relatable and shows that it’s not always smooth sailing. I’d personally go the oxidation removal route here. It’s a great upsell!
Yea thats what it needs but I'm not interested in doing that kind of work or window cleaning.
I watched your pricing video for roofs today bruh. Got $850 for a 2387 square ft roof wash. Thank you dog. Out here in Spring Hill, Fl. I applied the pitch of the roof, and sq. Footage price like you said. Preciate ya dog. Really Added some $ $ to my ticket. Keep doing your thing main man. You a beast. 💯Any thoughts on adding a booster pump for my 5.5 roof pump? Was having a hard time hitting the top of some parts of the roof. Some of these Pool cages be in the way fr lol. ✌🏽 brotha from Anotha
Hey thanks bro for watching that video, glad it was helpful. Nah I've never dealt with booster pumps, I do know that's a whole setup in itself which it doesn't even hook up to a 5.5gpm 12v pump. I personally use a 7gpm 100psi delevan 12v pump and I get pretty good distances.
I made a video on the distance it gets, check it out.
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash thanks dog. I’m going to order that one or the Remco 7 gpm. Can I use my 1/2 inch hose and same nozzles I use for the 5.5? (1 inch from pump to tank? I basically use a m5 twist and Davis shooter tip.
@adamg.3138 I'm all thrown off now. Are you talking about a 5.5gpm pressure washer or 12v pump?? If so no you can't use 12v pump nozzles for your pressure washer it's not the same
For the 5.5 gpm EverFlo 12 V. No wonder I’m getting no flow. My fault I Thought my M5 and shooter tip that I use for my 5.5 gpm pw would work with the softwash since it is rated for 5.5 gpm.
@@adamg.3138 no lol it doesn't work that way
I love your videos Cliff
Thanks Mike!
How do you make sure the SH doesnt hurt those plants below? Any other precautions besides watering them down?
That's all u need. Or you can go buy some fancy neutralizer
YOOOO CLIFF!!! I read ur reply that, not only did they pay in full but tipped you as well, thats a win bro!!! Youre a perfectionist, so to you its unacceptable, but to everyday people its beautiful work like always! Have a blessed rest of you week my boy. U already know GO GATORS, nothing popping with them tigers bro! Lol
Thanks bro. People love honest people and companies and I pride myself in that aspect. #GeauxTigers 🐅 🐯
@PinkFlamingoPowerWash absolutely bro! Honesty and integrity is a dying breed in today's 🌎!
Good effort. Sorry for the disappointment. The wood needed to be cleaned before being painted or stained anyway. So, they are a step closer. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks. Yes most definitely. You got that right
Sometimes things like that need both a cleaning and a restoration
That's facts. They understood that once I gave them the breakdown
doesnt the pool of dirty water stain where it sits and dries after youre done with the job? or what do you do about that?. also wood oxidizes? or is it fake wood?
No the water doesn't pool and leave dirt. It's not the wood that oxidized, it's the paint, its fake wood yes.
Hey flamingo love the vids what type of pressure washing hose is that?
Yamatic hose. It's linked in the description of the video.
A Job well done 😊
Thank you! 😃
Off topic but do you leave your pressure washer outside in the elements or do you have a shop or garage. Trying to see how I can leave my equipment on my truck without a garage
The truck stays outside. But soon I'm gonna get some covers made for them so I can cover them up. They're made to be outdoors so the elements doesn't really hurt them. If anything the sh fumes is what hurts them (mostly the mufflers)
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash no damage to spark plugs or carburetor?
@@Anthonysni92 no. The professional pressure washers are meant to be in rough environments. Not the cheap 2.5gpm stuff from the big box stores.
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash definitely not a cheap system but it did struggle starting the next day after a very hard rain fall
How hot does it get in Florida in the summer time, and how long do you let your solution dwell for so you dont get a flash dry on darker paint? Do you use different down stream injectors based on how hot or cold it gets?
Oh in the summer it gets really hot. Like 92-95 degrees sometimes. When that happens, I wet down the side that faces the sun 🌞 1st before applying the mix especially the windows on that side. I still use the same injector as usual though. Dwell time is normally a little less, around 5-6 minutes
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. All the best!
Hi buddy. Love and blessings.
Hey there
IVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF AMERITEC OVER 20 YEARS. JUST HAD MY CAT PUMP REBUILT BY THEM. IM IN TAMPA. IM NOT IN BUSINESS LIKE YOU. YOUR CHANNEL JUST POPPED UP. I HIT THE SUB BUTTON. CATCH YOU ON THE NEXT VIDEO
Awesome!!!! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing.
How's it going cliff I'm happy for your new truck and business. I was wondering some good ideas to get some leads
That's too broad. I got some videos on the channel on getting leads, check em out.
You might want to try some Ox-Knox from Southeast Soft-wash... Made specifically for this issue...
So is clensol BC and LAs totally awesome. Unfortunately I have no desire to dive into doing oxidation removal. Certain things I'm just not interested in.
I was thinking when you showed your finger after rubbing wall it may be oxidation. As we know everything doesn't go as planned. Hopefully they understand the situation.
They did. I explained it to them and their options. They were happy and gave me a tip
Am a big fan of your channel. Am a contractor and I clean as well. This was an easy fix but cost some money to do. Get a gallon of sealkret sealer Home Depot sells it most of the time. Or bear concrete sealer. Or the cheapest to do mop and glo floor sealer just spray any of them on light even coat it will make it look like brand new it takes the oxidation of and makes it shine like new.
It's easy but nothing that I wanna do. I provide a set of services which doesn't include that type of work. I said a product to use that can clean the oxidation off but I don't want to do that type of work.
Absolutely not. You don’t spray a sealer over oxidation. Yea it may look better for a period of time but you’re not REMOVING the oxidation. It’s still there and once that crap wears off due to sun exposure, it wil the same same or even worse. He had the right idea and I’m like him, I don’t want to fool with oxidation removal. It’s a tedious job and stressful work because it doesn’t always come off evenly. This is a similar bandaid to people spraying wd40 on oxidized metal. It looks better at first but once the wd40 wears off, the oxidation is there.
This is what happens to plastics and latex based products/paints when left out in the sun over time. It can be cleaned of but it will just do it again. It's easier just to paint over it.
Big facts! I made sure to be transparent with them. I was surprised they paid the bill in full and gave me a tip on top!
That's crazy I would've thought it was dirt also.
Lol fooled both of us.
I know how it feels when the result isnt what was expected, Wood is always tricky
Yea especially old worn out stuff
Great work sometimes who builds uses the wrong kinds of paint for exterior and it will oxidize like crazy fast too so not ur problem cheers
Yea idk why would ppl use cheap paint like that
When I clean buildings like that I don’t use SH. Try Clensol bc instead. Especially on painted wood. You will be happier and it will look amazing. Put it on and let it sit like SH just a couple minutes then rinse it. Won’t take environmental fallout off. The clensol will.
I said that at the end. I think you missed it. Lol.
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash No I heard ya. People think clensol is for oxidation. It’s not only used for that. It’s used for environmental fallout which is what you’re dealing with. SH doesn’t take that off. Clensol does. Hasn’t failed me yet. I’ve done commercial buildings and I’ve done post construction for new homes. Tried SH and it left the residue like what you’re dealing with there. Clensol takes it right off.
@user-wy4xw2zt9k oh yea its a versatile product for sure. But in our industry that's what people flock to as one of the main product for oxidation removal
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash Yeah I won’t touch oxidation removal. Clensol is my go to for “other than organic”. You can even use it to wash houses with…lol. I don’t for organic growth but you can.
@@user-wy4xw2zt9k what do you mean by environmental fallout?
It’s gotta be this batch of bleach or something I just had the same problem yesterday on basic vinyl siding
Nope definitely oxidation. The sh cleaned all the other stuff
Tried OxKnox?
Didn't try it and not interested in doing oxidation removal at this time. Ox Knox, cleansol BC, LAs totally awesome all would work
Def oxidation, not too hard but for sure a different pricing field. I’m in plant City my man. Let’s hook up!
Oh yea definitely needs that ox removed. Itty-bitty plant city!
Dang !!! That surface cleaner is a beast !!!
Lol she rips!!!!
😎💯💯💯
😎😎
omg...you would have had to scrub that whole thing! I would have tried a spot and let it dry then tackled it...just my opinion!
😆😆 no scrubbing for me. Not nothing that damn big for sure lol
Ox Knox brother I’ve tested it !
I don’t blame you for not wanting to do oxidation removal it’s not your fault the building was oxidized
Yep I don't wanna do that type of work. Just like I don't want to do window cleaning
When you do jobs like these, what do you do with the dirt that accumulates all over the parking lot?
Just rinse what u clean. There's nothing to do with it.
Tbh if Cliff couldn’t wash that. Nobody could wash it. I’d feel very comfortable as the client knowing my next options available.
They understood what they were dealing with. That's why setting expectations before taking on job like these are vital. The client was really thankful for my services and knowledge they even gave me a tip for the job.
BRO USE OX KNOX IT WILL CLEAN THAT RIGHT UP
Bro I'm not interested in doing oxidation removal lol 😂 I know products that will take oxidation off.
Oh ok got it . Its an upcharge tho
@@thomaspage7633 it definitely is for those who wanna do that type of work. I'm just not interested. Just like I'm not interested in cleaning windows lol
I feel you. Love your content my brother. I do pressure washing outta NJ
I love your CZcams content but cliff even I know, just from watching CZcams videos on this stuff in preparation of starting my own business... That is oxidation and apparently they make products specifically for it. Again, I'm no authority on much of anything and I'm not sure the cost of said products or how well they work. I'm just sayin it might make sense to look into it
I don't want to do that type of work. I said I know the product to clean it off and I know the process. Just really not interested in it honestly speaking. This video was done to show just 1 side of what one may come across, there's a fix but this is not what this specific video is about.
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash Love the videos. I’m planning to move back to Fl to start a business. I appreciate your knowledge.
@@jasonspurlin2380 you're very welcome

that is heavy oxidation, the sun has faded and oxidized that paint.
Super bad!
