I love how everything is in black and white when she's thinking about or is with her the other guy. But then everything changes to sunset colors when she's with Alex

After scrolling through the comments I think I'm the only one commenting (not that I'm the only one noticing) on the brilliant use of chromatic to achromatic colour shifts during the song. Black and white (achromatic) being used to indicate the times the girlfriend was feeling sad and alone due to her (obviously) cheating boyfriend, and the return to colours when with Alex to signify when she's happy again. And then there's just the amazing music but hey a little over analysis never hurt anyone :)
Maybe that's why the title of this song is let there be light.

I am 14 years old and I have suffered with my insecurities for the last 6 years now I know everyone goes through that phase in life but for me it was different because I had no to share my feelings with because I had no friends everyone I knew back then just wanted to use me and bully me. So I always thought something was wrong with me and that I was nothing. I always thought that no one really cared about me so I distance myself from everyone and I never let anyone in because I was afraid that they would hurt me again. But then one day I met this girl named Lereese and she was my light because she has always been the for me, she has always been so sweet and caring just like how you were to the girl in the music video. Now we are best friends and I couldn't be more grateful to have her in my life. Not only are you really talented, but the song really speaks to me. My ex could never make time for me and when he did it was so tense and you could tell he would rather be doing something else. When we were in public he would refuse to hold my hand or anything (I don't know if it was because he was cheating on me or not). He constantly lied to me and was jerk.
