I'm PhiDX, I play Tekken professionally for @ParagonFGC and ArcadeShock.

Kazuya looking approvingly at Rip is something I wasn’t expecting, yet very wholesome.
I absolutely love these breakdowns of tekken matches. It's just so fascinating, and I always learn a ton of stuff that makes me think differently of how I'm approaching my own matches.
PhiDX does a phenomenal job!
I haven't played T7 in a long time, but I have been watching these in-depth match analysis because I enjoy tekken a lot. Went back to play a couple of ranked matches yesterday, and even tho I haven't touched he game in a long time, these videos really showed me things I could be doing, so I started sidestepping in appropriate timings... learned the difference between quick sidestep and sidewalk... got more conscious about frame data and how should I aproach each match-up differently (I was always really bad at all these). I quickly got promoted to Yaksa and honestly I believe I am better at core fundamentals just by watching these analysis from Phid. Keep them coming!🔥
Okay, I know this is gonna be a long shot, but as someone from the Philippines I'd love to hear you break down THE Tekken 7 match, the one everyone's seen the video of, JDCR VS Knee Rev Major 2017. That would complete my T7 life for sure. Much love.
I can try, it's a bit harder as I have even less character knowledge of the early T7 seasons
@@PhiDX Does make it pretty tough too that the set goes the full distance if I remember correctly. Don't push yourself too hard, these vids you've put out lately are still hella good and they're helping me learn a bunch I wouldn't have on my own 🙏
I don't really comment on your videos Phi but please continue to do these match analyses, it provides so much useful information.
Man...Phi has quickly skyrocketed to my favorite Tekken youtuber. The analysis you provide is invaluable and your enthusiasm is contagious. Thanks for doing what you do dude.
BoaLuv hours, hell yeah
BoA once again proving how crazy he is. I really don't think that people in the west
properly acknowledge BoA as much as they pay attention to JDCR, KNEE, Saint etc.
He's like a low key sleeper giant that somehow flies under everyone's radar.
Because he doesn't attend as many tournaments I suppose
could you make a video dedicated to countering the different styles of movement and pokes? What does American, Korean, Japanese, Pakistan special style look like? maybe a summary on each region. I would love to pick your brain on this. I see people do a lot of Forward back movements only. My Hwoarang gets humbled too often. How would you beat something you don't know with the only information is the X movements and X small pokes?
thumbnail goes hard
The best part about Boa is that he isn't even a pro-player. He has a full-time job and streams casually, but does not play Tekken every day for 10 hours like pro-players do. Yet his Kazuya is still competetive enough that he is just able to beat absolute gods like Arslan or Knee from time to time. Once he gets his momentum, he is almost unstoppable.
I also saw him block punish hopkicks with a perfect electric on his stream and that's like the most insane accomplishment you can do in a real match. He is one of those Kazuya players who will not be satisfied with just a 1,1,2 punish.
I really like the gameplay analysis videos that you make. It helps people understand better what 'mind games' are, which is a very poorly understood topic by the majority due to its complexity. Really helpful videos
Great vid as usual
I have a question
Are viewer matches something you would want to commentate on? Maybe delve into the intermediate level of play. I would love to send some matches
Yeah, higher level players wouldn't like it but us intermediates definitely would benefit - like he even says in this video, lower level players don't react or think logically the way high level players do.
And while the answer should then be easy and obvious, it's just not that simple because IMO it can feel so random? I would love thoughts on how to establish control on 'non thinker, yet nonetheless wild/effective' players.
That being said I do think he has some intermediate coaching sessions on his VOD channel - I remember an Asuka/Law match that was interesting.
I would have to figure out how to package it
My random request for a match analysis is a little bit of a throwback, Arslan using Kuma vs Atif on busted (at the time) Leroy about 3 years ago (winners finals). Alternatively Kodee vs JFJ at final round 18 during tag 2 for even more of a throwback. That one is just a personal favorite- Aris commentary, big contrast in styles, massive choke, etc.
If you are gonna keep up these regular analysis videos, it might be worth giving this series a name... after the title something like "tekken school, ep. # whatever" but more creative.
Love these videos mate ... As a novice to the advance tactics that you pros use ..
I'm learning alot when u describe options you guys use
Subbed 👊
boa is a madman favourite character and in tekken 8 he will be a monster IF they make kazuya at least mid at launch
Youre a godsent to us tekken scrubs, learning a ton thanks to your breakdowns. Thank you PhiDX!
One thing that you could add about with electric, is that it comes out of movement at 11f (maybe 12 depending). So if you have a good sense of when a person likes to button for keepout, electric can be a crazy fast whiff punish tool. Of course on top of it being 13f fastest from neutral, it just adds another dynamic of speed.
Man, good video and great analysis. It was awesome to see Kazuya play at that level. He is usually out poked, side stepped left , low crushed electrics and anything else you can think of. This video just gives inspiration to Kazuya mains who are not as good to keep pushing. Thank you and I will be watching more of your videos.
Thank you for the comment. Kazuya is great! You can develop a lot of good Tekken especially when your opponents get better.
Man i love this series. Soooo much knowledge and breakdown. It helps us viewers also. This is too notch. Nothing beats this. I have seen pro's breaking down their sets. But this is just sooo much better and detailed
PhiDX great breakdown. I think some of us can learn from this obviously, but the bigger value is understanding the meta game at the top level of Tekken. This is so entertaining and so amazing to watch this. Love watching great Kazuya play too. Boa’s execution is amazing.
Kazuya is a tournament character with the right player
Loving your new analysis content. I learn a lot from these!
The reason why i love high Level tekken so much thoughts put intro every Action

The reaction of both of you at the same time. Boaluvb is trully absurd. lol
this is why I think Choksae is the Kaz god . Boa spams ws1,2 down jabs , hellsweeps etc . I know it’s whatever works/wins lol but that shit is hard to look at.
fair play but boa's wavus into ws2 arent hard to look at imo
you should remember this was the first korean to shut down arslan when he showed up
@@sakashimayokoshimahapofusagari and? Choksae doesn’t travel for tournaments and if you watch Choksae vs Boa death matches Boa gets worked and it’s obvious to see who’s more technically skilled. Unless however you’re impressed with the wild 50/50 style that Boa is known for. Not trying to sound like a hater either Boas hella good I just think his playstyle can be corny at times.
Choksae is goated.
Damn, I had no idea Kazuya can be so sick until I saw this player
What makes boa so unique is that absolutely everything he is doing is a micro input
You should do a video on Choksae vs Boa Kaz mirror match. He conquered Boa in a real creative way by using all of his moves and different combos for every situation.
Just subscribed and bro posted a video (real)
I wish I could play a Kazuya even 1/8 of Boa’s level.
Best outro ever
That thumbnail goes hard af
I just watched this tournament last night on Knee's CZcams channel! BoaLuvb is a beast
damn. phi is the guy to watch if you wanna git gid going into t8
Kaz is just pure tekken you should play him
I have TGP
@@PhiDX well played
14:00
these videos are sick keep doing them please homie
My requests:
Sora vs Noroma (Evo 2019)
Jimmyjtran vs Arslan Ash (Evo Japan 2019)
Dimeback vs Pekos (TWT LCQ 2018)
Qudans vs JDCR (South East Asia Majors 2017)
Love these explanation videos of yours. I'm kinda new to your channel so I wonder if you've done a "Difficulty" Tier List before
I think people would not enjoy my takes on difficulty 😅
@@PhiDX okay now I'm even _more_ interested 😂
Loved the analysis! I wonder why Boa not using standing 4 on Steve? Could be the move is too slow to recover?
small range and steve is moving backward a lot. kazuya wants to CH his movement, since steve hits too fast to really get a magic 4 like that
zafina b1+2 is always punishable by launcher, even from max distance and it seems it isn't because her whole hitboxes extends
Hi Phi, great video and analysis! I would like to put in a request to see if you could do an analysis of Knees most recent set against Atif Butt. Bryan vs Akuma. The set was about a month ago. Very Very good Tekken.
From gamers8 yeah?
@PhiDX Hi Phi, no the set was a first to 5 on Atifs CZcams channel. I dont think I can link it on here. Not after the whole set but maybe key aspects of the sets where you saw adjustments.
Khan vs Knee in the finals at Evo was also very good. I'd like to see your analysis on that as well. I think you're going to be soo busy with content creation haha.
I think your channel is going to be the go to channel for Tekken nerds looking to expand their skill set and gameplay ideology. You might have a huge influx of viewers when Tekken 8 drops.
Love your stuff! Get some merch going! Maybe a Tekken University series would be good where you do these breakdowns, and I can add a sticker to my mixbox.
You're welcome to link it

you don't need to delay 1 to hit 1+2,3,3+4 from zafina, you can just do 2,2 as a punish and hit her.
2,2 doesn't punish 1+2,4 by itself. That's why delay 1,1,2 is there OS option
Love the analysis of the matches and breakdowns! Being somewhat new to the competitive scene, these videos help me understand the concepts of the game better. Thank you PhiDX and big fan as well!
Loved the commentary
“Sweep the leg!”
Boa is sick as hell
Boa almost convinced me that Kazuya was top tier 😂
Smoking on that zafina pack
outro >:)
One of the worst match up for Kazuya and despite that Boa showed his incredible manual skill.
Can you analyze anything eyemusician lol
Boa is built very different
Link to vid?
I'm just a noob kazuya, but that's exactly how I play. Disrespecting people with WS1,2 whenever I get crouched lolll
Edit: also I mash on -frames lol
Boaboa pog
Sure phidx you get a comment for this
Maybe do some reaction to the high level Pakistan Noctis players.
I don't give a shit, #buffkaz
just let us watch and stop pausing
LevelUpYourGame has it uninterrupted!
@@PhiDXyou didn't even bother to link the video huh
Im gonna keep this quick
30 min video
This is anything but quick
complaining abt the length that insightful commentary requires, I'm glad he takes this much time
he was talking about the Kazuya breakdown because he did that last video, not about the entire match
