      !!!!!!!!!!!!!! almost forgot about this, I took it a little further, with sin waves of spheres floating about and 3d shapes that change in size to the level of the sounds, also a rotating fractal
      I kinda put it on hold though as I can't for the life of me record it/output it to a file :(
      This tutorial was a lot of fun though!

      Hi Tomash, I followed the tutorial and all the suggestions but it still doesn't work. other sketches with themidibus works flawlessly. I'm on Mac with live9

    Cool work!
    I also use Processing in conjunction with Ableton, but since I knew Max and I used OSC protocol a lot, I kinda did the same, but translating midi clips (thru a m4l device) to osc messages.
    Kinda tricky compared to this my bad hahaha.
    But, other than sending midi clips, I also made another m4l device that monitors (and also mirrors graphically) my external midi controller (nanokontrol).
    That way, I can control both audio and video parameters at the same time, and also record/draw automations (which can be useful with video).
    You know if there's any trick to do so (output midi automations) with just midi? That would be a blast :D

    Hey, I wanna convert that code basically so rather than requiring an Ableton side project, the parameters can just be controlled on a normal alphabetical keyboard with the audio input being a live LineIn input, can you help at all?

    thanks for your tutorial but it seems to be doesnt work with your code and ableton.
    Ive already create new midi port in My macbook and when i click play in processing and play music of ableton, it doesnt make any shapes on the screen. it just shows little noisy

    Did you install the library? If Processing can't find it from the library installer you can add it manually, google for themidibus, download the library zip from the github page and extract it in processing libraries folder

    What did you find the best way to output the visuals as video while keeping the music synced? I'm having a tough time keeping frame rates consistent while capturing the frame. Thanks

    • @TomashGhzegovsky
      @TomashGhzegovsky  Před 9 lety +1

      haha the best way i found was to simply record your screen with a camera..

    • @JohnWilsterman

      Tomash Ghzegovsky That was always my fallback. Haha keep it simple.

  • @andygrichting
    @andygrichting Před 4 lety

    that's cool and a really funky visual, but what I'd be intrigued most, how did you record the output? Whenever I try to use saveFrame the graphics lag so much behind with the music, so that I get like 1-3 fps and the images exported are useless. Would you mind elaborating on it? thanks

    • @TomashGhzegovsky
      @TomashGhzegovsky  Před 4 lety

      try OBS studio

    • @andygrichting
      @andygrichting Před 4 lety

      @@TomashGhzegovsky thanks, that's what I'm currently using, but I'd like to think that this can't be it. Until I've uploaded it to youtube, it's compressed 3 times and the output looks bad. Appreciate your answer anyway. keep up coding ;)

    Sorry For Disturbing.I carefully referred to the tutorial and fixed my processing configuration.But it appeared errors still.They were:
    ==== JavaSound Minim Error ====
    ==== Unable to return a TargetDataLine: unsupported format - PCM_SIGNED 44100.0 Hz, 16 bit, stereo, 4 bytes/frame, little-endian
    === Minim Error ===
    === Minim.getLineIn: attempt failed, could not secure an AudioInput.
    May I get your favor? Thanks in advance.
