Hey girl! Thanks so much for watching. College is all about experiencing and learning, specifically learning life lessons. When I first went to CSUN as a freshman, I was a Public Health major as I wanted to be a Public Health laywer but that was not something I was truly passionate about. The life lesson I learned is to always live life with passion; pick a major that you are truly passionate and committed to even if it is outside your comfort zone. What I love most about the Coms major (Communications Major) is that it really teaches you how to effectively communicate with others and convey messages. Most importantly, I love communicating and interacting with people; that's exactly what this major is based on. In my one of my Coms courses (Coms 351: Communications Theory) for the last two months, (April & May, but project was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.) we were assigned to work in groups to develop a podcast based on effective relationships . We had to apply the theories we are learning in class to practical use. For instance, how is the functional theory applied to effective relationships with parents? Aspects of this major are just so phenomonal (makes the educational process a fun process!) and these are things that you can potentially love to do. Most importantly, being shy and an introvert is never to be looked upon as a bad thing. That is why a degree in communications will enable you to get outside your comfort zone, develop the appropriate skills to communicate effectively, develop interpersonal skills, and apply all of the information you learn to practical use. Coms major is versatile, you can do so much with this major. Hope this helps! Go with your heart and if it is not right for you then at least you learned and experienced it. :)

I used Command Strips from
Walmart or Amazon to hang them! The drape should already have holes on them. Just be careful because after moving out, the Command Strips did leave marks, but that is a easy fix with some wall scuff cover up! Here is the Amazon link! Good luck!

How exciting that you will be transferring to CSUN, congrats!! I know it can be nerve-racking when we think about change, but this is a good change! This is not only a new experience for you, but a new journey. Although, it is a different journey than what we are use to, we always find ways to adapt. With Covid, we are not at ease when it comes to our social lives, but that all just means we have to find extra creative ways to still maintain that social life that is very important throughout our college experiences. When you start your new classes in the fall, take initiative to reach out to classmates via email after the first day on zoom. This also applies to any remote CSUN events that may be going on; I will leave some resources on where to find those events for you. Maybe you can put together a group-chat for that specific class, and get to know them! You can even start a podcast to help other students feel comfortable who may also be new to CSUN where you may be able to relate.

Hi Alexis! Thanks so much for watching. I actually need to update my bio, but I am currently identified as a first semester Junior because I went in with college credits so I am currently a semester ahead. I would have been a sophomore without the credits. My major is Communications with a minor in Entertainment Media Management. I absolutely love the campus, I feel like it is not too big and not too small. Palm trees everywhere, nice restaurants, the USU (University Student Union) is very nice, and the Oviatt library is insanely big and beautiful. That intriguing library was actually filmed in the Sky High movie. My next video will be titled "A Kwayzy Day In The Life" , which will be a vlog! So stay tuned and make sure to subscribe! :)
