Thank you for a beautiful demonstration making it very understandable. I would have thought the yellow pods were the seeds. Thanks to your demonstration I see that there are seeds within each of the yellow pods. Great job!

Thank you Misilla. This year was the first year for one of my Cala Lillies to yield thirteen flowers. I went out yesterday to bring in the pots and discovered seed pods. Thanks to you I now know how to get the seeds out. Thumbs up.

You’re welcome! I’ve read that it’s best to wear gloves when handling the seed pods due to plant chemicals that can cause irritation. My hands were fine, but just in case. Glad you found this helpful! Thank you for watching! Have a great weekend!

I think I haversted mine to early, they were just starting to turn from green, but it's the first time in probably 7 years of growing these that I've seen the fruit/seed pods grow so i got trigger happy :P (Also it's been a crazy year here weather wise, warm winter, freezing cold spring, suuuper hot summer with a genuine drought...Was scared of another heatwave that will kill everything off again. I Can't wait to see what autumn brings :P )
I will plant a few of the entire pods fresh as they are, and dry some out as an experiment. To be honest I've never had a problem multiplying them, I just split the roots in the winter and I have more han I know what to do with now....My family all have multiples. (They are all in large pots)

I too get seeds from my callas but honestly I was surprised to see you squish the seeds out of the "kernel." I have always just planted the kernel never thinking it could have more than one seed inside. My seed pods and kernels are not as large as yours are but my plants are still young. I hope you show us how your seed planting goes and thank you for your video!

thank you for this video. i have two callas that have produced the seed pods. they are still green and growing. i have grown the giant white for 2 years, and this is the first time it grew fruit. it was a mature bunch when given to me, maybe it needed a while to adjust. the other i bought this last winter, a nice red color, smaller plant. it only grew one fruiting stem. i wonder if they needed to cross pollinate? the neighbor has a bunch of the white ones, but they multiplied by division. her have never set seeds like this. my white one has maybe 6 or 8 stems growing fruit. i also grow a yellow one, but it blooms at a different time and has never set fruit.

I have an old bath with soil in it and have calla lilies growing in there. They keep propagating so I’m thinking they’re just dropping the seeds into the bath. The “cob” is present at the moment on some so I might try your advice. A couple months ago I just grabbed a handful of the lilies and placed them in a big pot in my fernery and after a couple of the stems died away new shoots grew up and are blooming wonderfully now.

I harvested seeds last week (they are green). I still have more I can harvest. This is my first year growing flowers and collecting seeds so I did not realize they needed to be fully ripe and dried. Can I still dry the green seeds I harvested? Or should I just harvest more pods and let them dry out?
