    Such a helpful video. Since you did this at the end of summer and got new growth during the fall do you cut it all the way down during the winter or just let the leaves brown and remove the old foliage in the spring? Do you keep your containers inside during the winter ? I read in some places you should put the bulb in a paper bag, is that necessary when growing in containers. Thank you for the reponse.

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před 2 lety +1

      I am in zone 9b and I leave them outside. I remove the leaves if they die back. If there is any chance that the bulbs will freeze outside, you must store them away in a paper bag. Otherwise leave it outside.

    @easy Peasy gardening I really enjoyed your video & knowledge! Great Job!! 😍 I bought a calla Lilly kit (one tiny bulb) is it possible to expect a healthy robust plant from such a small bulb? I'm planning on purchasing 2 more kits (for a variety of colors) and plant all three in a big pot, I will make sure they have adequate spacing....Love the pink, yellow & purple hues. 🤗 🙏💖 God Bless you immensely in this year.

    Hi, thanks for the video but I'm wondering where you are based and if that makes any difference with when to divide etc? For example I'm in the UK but if you're in
    Australia or Canada, I can imagine that conditions for repotting might vary. :)

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před 2 lety +2

      Absolutely! If you divide them after they finish blooming and the leaves start to die down, you are okay wherever you are.

    We have these same white calla lilies in our yard, but unfortunately a few of the plants have turned yellow and started to limp over (early May of 2020). Could this be because they are receiving too much sunlight? We have had record-breaking warm weather this spring, in California, as well. So, maybe it has been too hot for these plants that get more sun?

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před 4 lety +4

      Yes, they don't like hot weather. Also they die after they finish blooming. Meaning leaves die but bulbs will survive.

    • @EasyPeasyGardening
      @EasyPeasyGardening  Před 3 lety +2

      Calla lily will start to sprout in winters so you can just leave them in coco peat sideways. Once the time comes, you will see the sprouting and then you can plant

    Ok now I make a tough comment.
    After you divided them the mother plant threw up a new flower shoot but it didn't stand up properly. The angle you shot it on was not showing how it wasn't fortified enough to stand up.
    Is that permanent or did it take a, season for it to start sending out a straight up flower stem. Because dividing the bulbs during the rest period at the end of the season is perhaps less traumatic on the plants where you could separate the smaller bulbs by washing the roots down of soil and exposing the area to divine.
    Did that mother plant ever send flowers that stood straight up ever again?
    Thank you.

      You can start with one bulb and it will multiply soon. Just make sure that the pot has enough room for it to double in width. You can always transplant in a bigger pot when it outgrows
