- Just noodling around showing some neat features of the Peavey Heritage VTX amp.
Awesome sound... Make sure to get the one with the optional Black Widow speakers and a working footswitch.
No fancy licks here, but you should get an idea of the awesome sound this amp produces. - Zábava
Waylon got a great tone from his Peavey amps, with that built in phase shifter. You've got some nice sounds out of yours too. Preavey's were some of the most dependable road amps ever made.
These are very versatile amps with tons of available tones with just some tweaking of the knobs, fantastic country and classic/southern rock amps. You get a lot of amp for not a lot of money with these. Very lush and full reverb as well. Very under rated amps to say the least, USA quality and built like tanks.
I've had two of these over the years. It's a great amp! You can achieve so many different tones. It's LOUD and HEAVY!
Heavy?!
Saying this amp is 'heavy' is like saying that the Sphinx is old.

It sounds really nice specially the phaser Waylon Jennings 🎸
These are just great amps period!!!
Peavey had some great amps. This one is a beast. Very loud. Sounds great. Nice review.
Thx Scott.
Amazing amps, so good I bought two. Put one in a Peavey VT Classic 4x10 shell, perfectly complements the other. And I play doom metal, just goes to show how versatile they are
I play a lot of thrash and hair..should I pick up the one I saw at my local pawn..this thing looks and sounds badass but with my amptweaker on the clean this thing gonna roar?
@@ryanrossell8479 It can definitely thrash on it's own and it sounds good with every pedal I've used with it
Make it sure it works too, if the power amp isn't working most amp techs can not fix this thing
I have an '81 classic vtx series. Great sounds! I've owned many amps worth more money, but I still love plugging in to my old Peavey classic sometimes
I got one of these amps a couple months ago... again. I'm starting to get a collection of old PV amps and guitars, mostly all USA made. While I still usually use one of my Fender Twins, the VTX will certainly hold it's own and cost $150.00 bucks.
That's a sweet and versatile amp
Bought mine in the early 80s great for Skinner tone
How long until people figure out how great the 80s Peavey guitars were? Might be worth the investment now.
had a heritage and a classic vtx woild run them in streo with effects in between it was a killer rig LOVED THE PHASER!!! now I have a bandit 65 no phaser :( wish I still had the classic less watts but still so loud
Did the same thing with a heritage and deuce stacked in stereo... killer sound.
I'm getting one of these tomorrow. Was my dad's. I'd love to fire it up full blast outside of Joy Behar's bedroom window. 😄😈
Follow up...
Got the amp. All original and everything works perfectly save for one scratchy pot.
130 watts; cool.
93 pounds; not cool.
Excellent clean sounds.
What effects do you have on the country sound? I have a Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 with 4 ohm speakers.
Please tell me the exact model that you have I would like to look for one. Thank you
Exactly what the title of the video says. Its aound a 1984 Peavey Heritage with Black widow speakers.
Thank you
