Blinker fluid is only used in very high end cars. BMW blinker fluid is proprietary and very expensive, which is why you rarely see BMW drivers use their blinkers.

The blinker fluid thing is a running joke used by mechanics/car guys to mock people who have no idea about anything related to cars. The AI probably took that from reddit post where someone was getting mocked 💀
7:40 "Blinker fluid", which is also known as headlight fluid, is actually a thing. Kind of. It doesn't actually exist, but it's a really old and really common thing that newbie car mechanics sometimes get sent on fool's errands to find, while they're still wet behind the ears and don't know too much about fixing cars. One of the oldest hazing rituals in the book.

Bing’s AI integration has actually been really good lately, the reason I switched away from google.

The thing with the golden bridge could potentially be considered illegal because encourging people to unalive themselves is an crime if they end up doing it. In 2014 Michelle Carter, encourged her bf-Conrad Roy to unalive himself and she got charged and convincted for involuntary manslaughter. Albeit in a juvenile court bc she was 17 at the time. She still served time tho, her original setence was 2,5 years which later got reduced and she ended up serving 11 months but still. Juvenile facility or not, she did face actual criminal charges and did time for it.

From 1996-2002 the Cadillac Catera had "blinker fluid". Also some later Cadillac's had headlight fluid. It was in the early days of HID/Xenon lights. Most ,if not all blinker fluid is 20-20 weight.!! Look it up. In 97' when I had to fill a blinker lamp I lost my crap..

You don't weigh the same at the bottom of a skyscraper as you do at the top of a skyscraper, and you don't weigh the same in Canada as you do in Hawaii. If you drip a box of birds from a skyscraper, the weight will increase the closer it gets to the ground. But the mass is always the same.

AI as it currently stands doesnt read, understand, or believe anything. It simply takes in massive amounts of data to replicate realistic human speech patterns and determines the next best fitting word to add. It used potentially thousands of logged instances of blinker fluid being mentioned and more or less guessed how to arrange characters in a manner that makes sense to us, talking about what is already logged on blinker fluid. The more often someone states blinker fluid is real, the more likely the generative model is to regurgitate that information in exactly that manner. There is no real thought process or even logistical manner in which it combines words or letters, just a set of biases that deem this word or this letter should *probably* go next after that last word or character it decided to use.

The substitute teacher (Mr. Bixby) tells all the students in shop class that whoever brings him "Blinker fluid" from the automotive shop wont have to write an essay. 75% of the class runs off and he responds to the students that stayed "Now i know who the smart kids are."

The thing to remember here is that Google has never been a 'tech company'. They've been an advertisement space seller and all of their technology has been in service to selling ads. That's it. If they could use raw fish to sell ad space, they would. The tech is irrelevant. They'll hire engineers if they have to, but mostly it's just selling that ad space.
My favorite one is where someone asks google “what is the right temperature to cook chicken” and not only does it give the wrong temperature it says something along the lines of “if you are having trouble ask Goku for help”

I think Bing puts their AI result on the side of the page. In fact it seems like you have to tap the AI button on mobile to see it. Also the results seem much better. I never expected to be happy that I use Bing instead of Google but here we are lol

You CAN toggle it off. Open Google app on your phone, click on the beaker icon at the top left and turn off AI Overview

Brave Search also has an AI answers function. It handles "how does sandy cheeks die" remarkably well, so much so that I almost wonder if they hardcoded it after seeing Google try to answer it. It handles "how does mr krabs die" less well, but still notes (after the "show more" button) that it's a misconception spawned from a school project. And it doesn't tell you *that* as an answer to "im feeling depressed".

Google has kind of always done this though. For many years if you answer a question in Google, depending on how you worded the question, they would find an answer on the internet that validated that question. For example if I asked "Is Soda good for you," they'd find an article that is categorically false that would validate Soda being good for you. I haven't asked that question specifically by the way, i'm just using it as an example. On the flip side, if you asked "Is Soda bad for you" then Google would find an article telling you why Soda is bad for you. The only way to get more truthful answers has always been to ask more general questions, like "What are the health effects of Soda," or something like that.

"There is no sentient thinking when it comes to artificial intelligence." I would have to disagree because the term of AI has been thrown around so much it has lost meaning. True AI of what was imagined when the term was first coined would have sentient thinking on some level or at least either the potential to develop it or that the model would have the capacity once developed enough.
These large language models could just be called super chatbots and the message would be conveyed much better but that's not going to sell as well to investors or customers even if it's more accurate and honest.
That’s the best description I have heard. It’s still debatable is true AI is even possible. Personally, I think that if we could ever develop technology like that, we would just integrate because humans want to survive and that make a lot of money.
