To be honest, Kendall looked kinda bratty at the start. I mean I get as a kid she had anxiety but this episode showed her raw emotion and JoJo stayed positive during the whole thing! I don't think people give her enough credit for all the times she's been dissed or overlooked!

I think it wasn't that exciting of a dance/solo for Kendall to care. Maddie and her asked for a duet together, Maddie wasn't there, and Kendall wasn't interested in doing some scrapped together number in lieu of what she requested (a duet with Maddie).

She choreograph the dance to be a duet but how you work with your partner and connect makes it a duet.
She talks about how the other duet has partner work and dancers interacting. This dance seemed like it was always destined to be a solo anyway because she would have never choreographed something like this for Maddie.

Not every dancer wants to be a star. Some just do it as a hobby. And to me a mom should want their child to be successful not a star. That’s why I was a little weirded out with dance moms cuz if u went to Abby it’s only to become a star. I understand Melissa wanted Maddie to be a star cuz Maddie really wanted to be one at a young age. But nia or Paige at a young age u can tell they wanted to do it because it was fun to them and it was a good hobby to their moms. They were never thinking of star and stuff

Kendall wasn’t trying to be mean to Jojo, she was just disappointed that Maddie wasn’t there to do a duet with her because she is Kendall’s best friend and like Melissa said, they’ve been duet partners for years, Kendall and Maddie made such special duets together. The whole scene was edited to make Kendall look like she was being bratty and rude… but in reality she wasn’t. 😕

isn’t it funny how at the beginning of season 5 jojo kept getting kicked out and sarah didn’t have a permanent spot and then christy and sarah come back with no spot and jojo and jess already have one.
I feel so bad for Kendall in this moment. I struggle with anxiety too, so I know for a fact that she was having a real panic attack in this moment. I hate it when people call her bratty because I know that what comes off as bratty is really anxiety. I get it all the time and I hate it. It makes me hate myself sometimes when people say that, so I can’t imagine how Kendall must feel. Plus, can you blame the kid for being upset? She’s been begging for a duet with her best friend for weeks, and when she finally gets it, she has to do it with Jojo instead because Maddie is out doing a Disney show, once again outshining her. And then she gets it taken away completely when Abby makes it a Jojo solo.

To me, it seems like Jill was always pushing for Kendall to have solos and be in the spotlight but I think Kendall felt more comfortable dancing with other people. Her anxiety always skyrocketed when she had a solo and she ended up in tears or having panic attacks. Even though she was portrayed as the mean girl on the show she seems more like an introvert ...
I felt bad for JoJo getting cut out of the dance unceremoniously but then, due to circumstances, she ended up being the only one doing the dance and that made me happy. She is such a nice girl; I hate clips where she's punished for being too cheerful.
