  • Learn how to prepare Thick Matcha also known as Koicha. The preparation method for koicha is very different from regular matcha. For koicha, as much as four grams (two teaspoons) of matcha are used, roughly four times the typical one-gram serving for normal matcha. The amount of water used differs, too: koicha uses far less water than regular matcha.

3-4 scoops are 3-4 grams. 1 tsp is 4 g, so I don’t think you can use TWO tsp. That would be 8 grams, way too much matcha

      Hi Sylphadora
1tsp is around 2g. This preparation is for thick matcha. If you’re new to matcha we do NOT recommend you start with drinking it as Koicha. I hope this helps :)

If 1 oz is equal to 28 grams, and there are 6 tsp in one oz, then 1 tsp is approximately 4.7 g.

@@samiliaa1531 That is based on the unit weight of water, the metric standard for fluid ounces. Matcha is less dense than water and has a weight of about 2 grams per teaspoon.
