  • Willemijn Verkaik performs No Good Deed in London, on March 16th, 2017. Contains several vocal gems, including a more angry squeal after her initial Fiyero, a stellar Fiyero note with elongated middle section and a beautiful "ever again" riff as well as Willemijn's exquisite tone and belt. Witch's Father is Russell Walker, Glinda is Helen Woolf.

That Fiyero at the beginning is enough to make me cry

this is breathtaking. From the initial "Fiyero", through emotional "i don't even know what I'm reading", angry "if that's all good deed are...", to the most amazing final, long "again". God, take me to London.

The only thing I wish is that the music didn't overshadow the singing. Sometimes I can barely even hear her and Verkaik is one of the better Elphie's that I've heard.

For some reason I kinda voice reduction and bass boosted. Anyway, FREAKING HEAVEN. I don’t know how but a genius must’ve chosen this brilliant lady for one of the most iconic roles in all of Broadway history! And here she is SLAYING IT AGAIN

The best singers in the world are those that played Elphaba on Broadway or West End.

She's great but I can't get past her accent and her rhythmic stiffness

Maybe it's my imagination but it seems to me over the years she's become more careless with her "American" accent. The vernacular of "Wicked" is a broad American, I'd say TV show/Newscaster type of accent. It doesn't bother me but I found it more noticeable in these recent clips.

In this video she is performing in London's west end, and therefore isn't putting on an American accent but an English one. I've seen her perform in London twice since she came back in 2016, and am English myself, and think her accent is excellent. Only very rarely on certain words can you hear the dutch in her.. and of all the different Elphabas I've seen she is by far the best - her and Suzie (London's current Galinda) are my favourite pair ever!

Um, okay I stand corrected as far as sounding English but I saw her in New York and every now and then her "USA" sound was a bit off from time to time. I have followed her since she was in Germany and I've noticed she can slip on the accent wagon when she switched over to English. I'm not complaining. Very few can pull off what she doe. It's really nothing as far as I'm concerned ultimately she is amazing.
