    Little late to the party but a tip for the tie rod ends is banging on the spindle itself around the tie rod. That loosens the tension better than trying to hit the actual top of the threads through the spindle

    Anyone about to do this project should do a couple of things that makes it much easier... use a impact! Take off the sway bar it makes it much easier, take the calipers off and hang from frame so you don't hurt brake lines. You can't measure from wheel well because front has a higher arch so its an optical illusion. The truck should be measured at rocker panel. That truck is sitting level. I put on 2" Rough country struts and truck rides great! A simple swap and don't have to disassemble struts. I also put a factory 2018 Z71 Silverado block and ubolts in the rear. It fit perfect and was from my Silverado after a lift. I'm really thinking about putting a 1/4" spacer on top of struts to get another 1/2" out of the front. I have 0 issues and my 2022 Colorado LT REDLINE EDITION 4x4 is constantly off road with no problems, squeak or popping.

      Thanks for all the tips. I will soon be making the switch to the leveling struts from Rough Country because the ride is not as comfortable and I get a decent clunk from the driver side front going over bumps. I look forward to getting it worthy of the trails again

      @RedneckTuners also to get tie rods out just smack the knuckle a couple of times where tie rod goes in. It will fall right out. Taking a few minutes to disassemble the calipers and sway bar help a lot !!! They're just in the way.

      @@RedneckTuners yes sir.. I also just put the 31 inch duratracs on but they are only 1 inch wider and a bit thicker.. I kind of wish I went with a 33 but didn't want to be bothered with trimming.. I'm still considering

    Is there any danger of pulling out the inner CV joint with that spindle hanging down so low?

    • @RedneckTuners
      @RedneckTuners  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Its definitely possible but i tried my best to support the lower control arm somehow throughout the process. If you are careful you should not have any issues

    Shocks do nothing for ride height..unless there air shocks

    • @RedneckTuners
      @RedneckTuners  Před 8 měsíci

      Worn shocks actually sag from original factory height because the spring (for fronts) and the actual absorber wear out and do not rebound like they used to. My truck has over 100k miles and the difference in rebound, height, and comfort was completely noticeable.
