From what I understand is that she did feel bad for what she did, but just ignored personal feelings in order to do what she needed to as she still believed that she can only trust herself (putting herself above others in personal importance), and perhaps taking care of Newton was her way of trying to make amends for feeling guilty. The story behind them was okay, but the weapon itself sucked ass. Nunchucks literally are a direct contradiction to Ash. They might require focus and precision, both things definitely Ash, but they also represent defence, deep thought and a circular flexible way of thinking. This is not Ash. Ash is straight to the point, sharp with her words and focus, deliberate in her actions and inflexible with her thoughts. The nunchucks directly go against her character, should’ve put more thought into it instead of just slapping two paddles to a bit of string.
