      Oblivion's Daedric Armor: Y'know those shoulder bits? How about, instead, we put big dinner plates there with little tidbits to stick out and catch your arm when you swing! That way, you'll always swing horizontally! You won't swing vertically, or even at a diagonal angle!
      Skyrim's Daedric Armor: ...Spikes. Spikes? Spikes. Lots of Spikes. I want to get caught on every doorway and cave entrance possible. I want to have spiders using my armor as a spot to live...
      When it comes down to it, All forms of Daedric armor have looked rather silly. Still, I'd rather have gigantic spikes and look like 'Original Character, Does Not Steal' than 'Mr. My Armor can serve as a Meal Tray'.

    • @UNITDW
      @UNITDW Před 7 lety +22

      It's weird that all the armour in Skyrim is actually useless, leaves way too many exposed areas (see: Iron armour) and the armour in Oblivion is good, protects the whole body and has useful helmets.

    • @devinodore1726
      @devinodore1726 Před 7 lety +29

      Iron armor is the only heavy in Skyrim that has an exposed area like that, and it's because it is the cheap starting heavy set. Maybe regular steel armor too but it's not too much better, and even still they both have upgraded chest pieces that add sleeves. Meanwhile there is Steel Plate, Dwarven, Ebony, and Daedric with full body armor suits.

    • @UNITDW
      @UNITDW Před 7 lety +12

      Devin O'dore Daedric armour is awful, too fantastical with overly heavy plates,no neck protection etc. Same with Dwarven Armour, it would be impossible to move in, and alongside it, there's no upper leg protection in Dwarven armour.

    The only reason why I compared the steel plate armor to oblivions steel armor is because oblivions steel armor is also technically a plate armor, its just not called that way. The so called steel armor in skyrim looked nothing like its oblivion counterpart, so I decided it would be a better idea to compare the 2 plate armors, guess not.

      It's a bit too dark though. If you bother to read the books in the previous games, Skyrim's described as a pristine, quiet, frozen land blanketed with snow. It's supposedly so beautiful that people travelling there feel like they stepped into an entirely different world. Skyrim in Morrowind and Oblivion is a fantastical snowy wonderland. I like the darker changes in Skyrim's armor, because it's 200 years after the Oblivion Crisis and in a whole different region of Tamriel, which means a lot of armor is going to look different. But Shrowded Armor, Blades Armor, and Dwarven Armor looks almost exactly the same because the Dwarves and Blades are gone and the Dark Brotherhood is deeply rooted in tradition

      There are a few Skyrim armors that look practical, too. The Steel Plate armor shown in this video looks fairly good, the Ebony armor looks great, and the fur armor looks pretty decent too. The Dawnguard brigandine-looking armors were definitely a welcome sight when I first saw them, and the Skyrim elven armor is a good look too.
      A lot of the issue with most Oblivion armors narrows down solely to the helmet pieces of most armor sets, particularly the Glass and Ebony helmets. The sheer brightness of the colors in Oblivion also affect the appearance of many assets negatively, as they lose a sense of reality when so starkly lit up. I imagine shader and lighting mods could look phenomenal on Oblivion.
