Does one need to apply a basecoat/primer to a fairly new (18 months) corrugated zink roof? I am trying to be proactive by preventing rust in the future.

The most speaking is with regards to the Membrane(the white cloth)...what he does is self explainatory when puting it on the gaps of the block and just a summary he emphasizes that you will need atleast 3 coats over that after its been applied...it will be as good as torchon on water proofing when fully cured.
