For anyone interested its Desmopol. You can tell by the tin. And yes it should have 225g matting across the entire structure not just the board joins. At a minimum that roller should be squeegee it on to give some depth and not actually rolling.

It's good for small jobs I use it all the time I don't no about a big job though not without reinforced sheets. There's nothing worse than going back to a job that's failed.

Liquid rubber is definitely A GREAT PRODUCT however it needs to be applied correctly and needs to be fully reinforced with glass fibre and then second coated this I have used grp and epdm and the liquid rubber from lrs is the way forward in my opinion

where's the reinforcing matting? although it is very elastic, it can't cope long term with the movement and weathering without reinforcing

  • @johnlieb1

seen this done on a existing roof before to extend the service life. All seams have the reinforcement set in the liquid and another coat onto of that but, not directly over plywood. I have seen this done directly over Dens Deck and it failed.

I did one 4 years ago, followed the video and installed as manufacturer said to. Didn't require matting all over! only joints, upstands, flues etc it failed last week. I believe now they say you require all to be matted. Piss take

Fibreglass is a good product but.. Not 110%.. No primer then it won't bond to sterling board.. Also.., Has a chance to crack. Grp roofing has to be solely relying on the weather.. Can either be too hot or too cold.

@@danielfinley47 generally sweating is due to not doing the roof insulation correctly - not installing a vapour barrier correctly - warm roof's can sweat and you got to have a vapour barrier - or cold roof needs venting properly - I've been doing them for a few years now with no issues (so far!) the one on my office is doing fine after 7 years

Torch on sbs is the superior product , it can be fully submerged in water and never fail, 2.5 mm underlay heat welded and a 3.5mm capsheet all fully bonded and vulcanised together, iv had no problems with leaks in 20 yrs of roofing with the largest roofing companies in uk doing schools shopping centres and factories ,superior product just need to be a master to do it lmao 🤣 a painter can put this crap on

The work these guys are doing seems very professional. However, I have this Spanish product on my flat roof, I'm only writing this comment hoping that it will save someone some money.
Keep away from it, it has failed on my roof big time, even though 3 coats were applied, Is has very little elasticity.

  • @athiestwales

This should be primed first and have reinforcement cloth layed into two layers . You need a proper installer for the 25 year guarantee.
