This prevented Swedish expansion for 40 years, untill rebels on Ukraine broke out and conflict ruined country more than any other in history, while around 40% of population died.

Likely not. The Ottoman Empire began its decline long before Russia had expanded to become a major power. Russia didn't really start fighting the Ottomans until their empire was already weakened and dysfunctional. Without Russia, the Empire would likely have survived longer, but would still have been eventually destroyed by European powers.

The short answer: There would be a lot less landmass.
Fun fact: The Russian currency of the 'ruble' has its name derived from the times of early Russia when the main currency in widespread use was these small metal bars that would be beaten with a hammer into smaller strips and then smelted together again with other pieces. The Russian word for the process of beating those bars into smaller pieces is "rubeet' " (рубить), and the resulting smaller pieces would be called rubles.

Not so sure. While the Commonwealth expended a lot of resources to fight Russia and would certainly be better off, it would still have Prussia, Austro-Hungary, Sweden and the Ottomans to fight. And assuming it still spends most of 17th century kicking itself in the balls like it did in real life, they likely could have destroyed it even without Russia, though it would certainly be harder.
Prussia couldn't do anything to PLC without Russia to back it up.

Nach, they would be fell. Just take a look at China from 1800 and until 1945 - it was in a lot of ways the same. Corruption, divided, no unity. Just imagine a parlament republic or USA Congress where only one! person who disagree can ban new law or decision. That was in Poland. So they fell bc they were stubborn, greedy politicians.
Actually, Russian lands could be separated between Poland and Sweden during the Times of Troubles in the 17th century and then Poland could just colonise Siberia instead of Russia because they used similar tactics to colonise new lands. And that could happen even earlier. Lithuania could unite all Russian lands instead of Moscow if its duke didn't betray the alliance with the Golden Horde and crushed the Moscow prince in the end of the 14th century.
Also, in this scenario, the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth would become way more Russian because of its overwhelming Russian population and the abundance of Russian nobles.
And we should also remember that in such a scenario the Russian Orthodox Church would probably be forced to join the union with the Catholics as it happened to the Ukranian Church and that fact will definitely improve the relations between Europe and Russia and our cities will be westernised even before Peter The Great could be born.
doubtful there would be constant rebellion, because of religion, catholic church treated orthodox christians like shit, thats why you often had cossack rebellions in ukraine, and in Russia it would be on much larger scale because the population was much bigger then ukraine, so unless they treated orthodox population as equals they would never be able to hold on to russian lands

Cossack rebellions weren't caused by religion IIRC (Poland was very tolerant back then) but by treating Cossacks like peasant serfs, which they really weren't.
Cossack rebellions were due to us treating them like peasant servants and not keeping some promises given to them, if I remember correctly.

Well I still think it would be an interesting scenario. Imagine a Russia that instead of being behind the rest of Europe in technology, culture and later ideas of liberty it was at the forefront of those new ideas and concepts. What would've happened, and how would it impact countries and regions like Crimea, Sweden, Georgia and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. I think it's interesting at least.
Another solution is the unification of Russia by the Halych-Vladimir duchy. In that case, Russia would take over church union with Rome.Russia has become like Europe, already in medieval time.The center of the country would become Kiev or Lviv.
Same thing might have happened if Catherine the Great hadn't felt betrayed by the Serfdom during the Pugachev's Rebellion and thus abandoned Enlightenment teachings - before that happened she was much more open to liberal reform and was even pen pals with Voltaire. Then again, she had basically sold the serfs back to the Orthodox church in order to secure the first estate's backing, so maybe the rebellion was simply an excuse for a course she had already chosen.

There are a lot of major nations one could ask a question like this about. Germany, China, Spain...On the other hand, there are also plenty of _failed_ unions which it's fascinating to imagine succeeding, such as Gran Colombia.

That just would never have happened. Sorry. Mexico couldn't hold the territories they lost. Very few lived in the territories because the economy was centered around Mexico City.
