Ruger Americans are some of the most accurate rifles for their cost. If accuracy was the only factor in pricing a gun and not materials and man hours it would be well over 1000 dollars
This is incredibly random, but your profile picture has been a huge inside joke in my friend group for some reason, an no one know where the image comes from. Where did you get your profile picture from?
I have T3 it’s just a good value for money and it’s not overly heavy and quite accurate it’s in 270 I have not had any issues with it I finck it’s 14 yers Oid and I have doing a good bit of red deer with it good video from Drambo west coast of Scotland 🏴
Did aus outlaw them too? Why don't you all ver there fight back? You were a prisoner colony, and no one messed with yall. Fearless in the world wars, pushed back the Germans with veracity like no others. Now it's a pansy country
The Q Fix also comes in 8.6 Blackout that utilizes a 1 in 3 twist rate that comes out to about 500,000 RPM. You need to watch a video when this round hits the ballistics gelatin. It delivers a rotational energy that I’m sure is delivered by all guns with rifling however it is now such a dramatic example that we can now see it and consider this new energy when hunting.
I was initially equally impressed and then saw some decent arguments as to why it's not as impressive as it might initially seem I'm not the best suited to reproduce those arguments but one thing I can say is that the 8.6 is not a new cartridge. It came out previously under a different name and there is a reason it didn't catch on the first time. (Not saying it's not a good cartridge or anything. It just might not be as "omg amazing" as I and others thought.)
I saw on a YT video once that the bolt on the Ruger American doesn’t lock when the safety is on. This made me choose the Savage 110 as my budget hunting gun
Got offered my choice of rifle for Christmas this year. Obviously my first request was The Fix and that was kindly turned down as expected. But hey, always start your negotiations at well over what you’re really wanting. So naturally my next request was Sig Cross and that was met with an assuring “sounds good” can’t wait for Christmas morning!
How do you like the cross? I picked up a fix recently and I love it, was thinking maybe I'd get a cross down the line to have a heavier bench PRS gun but now lately ive been leaning toward building my own PRS rifle in a chassis with a 700 action
@@ianprice3837 I’m loving the cross! As far as a PRS gun, definitely go with building one. The cross, no matter what model it is, will never be that type of gun. It is the perfect hunting rifle and that’s why I love it
I have the Tikka T3x Lite Veil Alpine shown in the vid but in 270 Win. Awesome gun. You'll want to ditch the stock recoil pad and install a Limbsaver AirTech recoil pad for T3x
The best hunting rifle is the one you can achieve reliable accuracy with that is within your budget and is legal caliber for the game you are pursuing. For some folks that's a hand me down 30-30 from grandpa, for others it's a Weatherby with all the trimmings, long as the freezer is full of deer meat at the end of season, you chose correctly
@j2wz I got a newer rem 700 and a tika. The tika definitely has better build quality and is WAY smoother but the remington 700 is more accurate. It's getting inch groups with cheap range ammo and close to 1/4in groups with hand loads. The tika is great but it doesn't get much better than 1in groups.
The other comments correct, but I figured I'd expand. You can get a tikka that's the same gun as the one in the video without cerakote and non threaded/fluted barrel for around 700-800.
Get you a Remington 700 or a Weatherby vanguard, you won’t regret it. Plus they’re both pretty cheap, Remington 700s are going for less than $500 at my local Walmart with a Bushnell 3x9 or 4x12
I have machined the stock for the q fix, amazing finished product, but a royal pain in the ass to make, the entire machine (8000 lbs) shakes while cutting the aluminum block during roughing
I would say remington, but everybody kept saying that they're not as good as they used Some people say that bergara. It's the new Remington or better. I don't know what We just have to see
Why would you need an MLOK hand guard on a “super lightweight” hunting rifle? Wouldn’t attaching a bunch of unnecessary accessories defeat the purpose?
If I had 4k to spend on a hunting rifle, then I’d buy a 700 dollar tikka and a 3.3k scope if that tells you anything. The tikka has the best factory action I’ve ever felt, and they’re definitely accurate enough to do whatever you need them to. If I did anything to it after purchase, it would just be to possibly cerakote it and replace the stock with solid fiberglass or carbon fiber. Every hunting rifle I buy from now on will most likely be made in Finland.
Would definitely take the Tikka over the Fix
Nice looking bolt action btw👌
Exactly
The best rifle out of the bunch! I have owned them all
I got a ruger American when I turned twelve for my first deer rifle. I’m 22 now and haven’t had to re sight the thing in. It’s been an amazing gun

I dig the Tikka bolt knob. Classic and modern in one.
I own a Tikka T3X TAC for target shooting and a Sako S20 for hunting. both great weapons. very precise and the price is right.

Marlin 336 In 30-30 Win
Depends on What one is hunting and where. Once that’s established then it’s what fits the hunter in the appropriate caliber for the hunt.
