Lyrics:
I'm looking for some inspiration
All my words now they come from pain
Had you on my mind, now my songs began to sound the same
But your touch lost its feeling mama
Your lovin lost its warmth
I felt you slipping away, when your heart began to feel torn
Feels like I'm dyin'
My mind won't be still
Even when I'm standing steady mama, feels like my hearts been running uphill
Said It feels like I'm dyin'
Seen your plan from the beginning, did you ever really want me around
Soon as you left me mama, you love for me could not be found
I hope he sings to you darlin, hope he's holding you right
Try to hold back my tears, as you drew further and further from my site
Feels like I'm dyin
My mind won't be still
Even when I'm standing steady mama, feel like my hearts been running up hill
Said it feels like I'm dyin
Said it feels like I'm dyin mama

Songwriter. Guitarist. Singer. Bandleader. At only 20 years of age, Marcus King’s dazzling musical ability is evident throughout The Marcus King Band, the young phenom’s 2nd full-length LP and first for Fantasy Records. Operating within the fiery brand of American roots music that King calls "soul-influenced psychedelic southern rock," the album highlights King’s gorgeous, rough-hewn vocals, soaring guitar work and heartfelt songwriting all amidst a group of masterful musicians who, together, are quickly becoming one of the country’s most sought after live acts.
Raised in Greenville, South Carolina, King was brought up on the blues, playing shows as a pre-teen sideman with his father-bluesman Marvin King, who himself was the son of a regionally-known guitarist-before striking out on his own. Going beyond the sonic textures of his acclaimed 2015 debut album, Soul Insight; The Marcus King Band broadens his sound, touching upon everything from funky R&B to Southern soul and Americana in the process. His band gets in on the action too, stacking the songs with blasts of swampy brass, a lock-step rhythm section and swirling organ. Ever the multi-tasker, King bounces between several instruments, handling electric and acoustic guitar - as well as pedal and lap steel - while driving each track home with his soulful, incendiary voice.

Anyone still listening to this today 😍
And today 😍
Fuck yea. MK is the man!!
hell yeah!
One of my favorite songs
Bruh still here today just dyin 😤
Dude had JUST turned 20 years old three DAYS before this performance. I couldn't tie my shoes at 20! OMG this dude is as real as it gets.
I was still doing push ups and bald . 🙃
I was still climbing trees and picking my nose
I think when Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, James Brown, Steve Marriott, Duane Allman and B.B. King passed their souls immediately went into this guy... fortunately.
John House SRV and Joplins baby. In another reality.
🤌
This guy is definitely full of soul, but if you ever saw Duane play, you can't see & hear Derrick Trucks play slide & not wonder a little about reincarnation ! Something in that young man came straight from Skydog !
@@j.rollinsbrunson3671 if you wanna see something absolutely mind blowing there is a video up on CZcams of Marcus King Band and Derek Trucks absolutely JAMMING to Hot ‘Lanta at a live show. Highly recommend 🔥
John, You forgot to mention the late great Toy Caldwell , Those Carolina boys like Nashville cats are born with the gift.
That voice...born to sing blues/rock.
Wow thank you so much.
Absolutely
So we're all pretty clear to on this kid's greatness? Ok. Good.
cypress dobro cash me ousside how bah dah

Mike Pesci your hearing aid is broken. PUNK. Jealous much?
Patrick Moore kids fkin Amazing bro! This ain’t no country music... this is strait up “Southern Psychedelic Soul”
That's Duane Allmans Gold Top people.
Really? That's freakin cool
I don't think it's Duane's actual rig...but a repro
Byron Turnbow Yes it really is Duane’s, Marcus is at the Altman’s museum in Macon.
Yes. The Big House is the home in Macon Georgia that the band shared for a while. It’s now a museum dedicated to the band. Very cool. That is 100% Duanes Les Paul.
Sooo... this is why my I’m in a constant state of jizzing myself?
Young man with an old soul..So refreshing and Real! Thanks!
he really got benjamin button disease. so he really is old as hell
Nailed the comment!
What a great voice. Hard to believe he's only 20.
Makes me nervous. So many of his predecessors died so young. Please avoid planes, helicopters and drugs Marcus!
My goodness, I can't stop listening to this song...never knew a single electric guitar on its own can punch so deep combined with vocals that match every word in the song. I am so glad I discovered ur music...this is music and song writing that is timeless, especially a young man in the middle of current modern main stream music scene which is barely music at all most of the time. Rare gem. So glad u exist...
It's rare to hear this stuff on the radio. But the the world has never been more full of great music. You've just got to dig a bit now, but it's all over the Internet 😎
I never dreamed in a million years that voice would come out of that face.
What I really like is how he keeps the bass line going as he solos. Awesome!!!!
Yes not easy sometimes !
Those AND the singing! Ridiculously filthy skills!
Playing Duane Allmans gold top, at their house and museum, and the first line is “I’m looking for some inspiration”, you got it
Was thinking the same thing. What an honor
That's Duane Allmans Gold Top people.

I’m loving everything this dude puts out. My new favorite artist for sure.
💙💙💙💙💙
I think Marcus is carrying on where Gregg left us (all too soon). His voice is full of soul!
Gosh this kid. A dying breed.
My daughter saw him open up for Chris Stapleton last night in Nashville! She convinced me to CZcams him and I ended up downloading his albums! Sooo soulful!
2:43 guy is playing the guitar like a piano...unreal. So talented
Great singer, great player. Good luck to you Marcus, you deserve everything that's coming your way.
This live recording of this track hits me just the same as it did the first time, every time. Timeless.
Holy shit man!!! I don't care if I'm late for work. I'm gonna go play my les Paul.
Andy Goodman
I , also...
Although I would shit myself if they put THAT Les Paul in my hands. Although somewhere, Duane is smiling
Amen
Yeah.. keep on playing dude
Andy Goodman me tooooooooo !!
this hits damn hard when you feel depressed.
Greatness ! A light , in the swampy world we live in !
My face totally melted off! There should be a warning or something.
I’ve lost count how many times I have watched this 😮
Well done dude, it really amuses old folks like me when young cats like you show that much love for a piece of music history like that you’re holding in your hands there 👍🙏❤️🌈
He's has a hollow body les Paul I'm pretty sure. It was his grandfather's an his father's before him. He plays with it sometimes you can tell how much music ran in this family. Awesome to see an this guy was meant to do it.
Video I seen was years ago. So I'm sorry if that's the sentimental guitar thought it was hollow body though the one important to him.
Keep Feather'n it brother
His jeans are super high and tight 👌
The key to this man’s genius is his impeccable Timing.
184 people didn’t like this!? I hate the world now...seriously!! I don’t trust ANYONE if there’s people that didn’t like this!!!
That police/ambulance siren that's in the background at 0:33 sounds very appropriate for the song! I'm not sure, but it may even be in key! :D
Kostas, I think they called the fire department, cause this dude is on fire!!!
cypress dobro I know, that's what I'm saying!
Noticed this as I read the comment, it's pretty haunting.
cool stuff happens to him.....he'll be on stage and the light falls on him different.... and it's not the lighting guy.
Typical for Macon (I live ten minutes away from the big house lol)
Soulful, come on with it brother!
I will never understand why people dislike beautiful music !!!
Marcus, I be this recording from The Allman Brothers Big House resonates even more now when you watch it.
Jimi, eric, and marcus. In that order, marcus your music will live forever
Witnessed this man for the first time in person last night. I was in front row just watching him play in awe. All natural with his eyes closed. Him and his band perfectically in.sync. Amazing.
Dude is from another planet..
Easy
Maybe another dimension
first time i heard this man it felt like im eight again, hearing bb king in my little room.
Im 27 now. This man is the real future of the blues. Sry for my bad english
Similar for me, brings me right back sitting in the backseat of my dads car heading out for vacation with his old blues cd's.
He surely is. He has the blues voice, not to mention his wonderful playing!
Hell who cares about your spelling lol.just sit back and let the music flow lol
My uncles seen him all over around indiana everytime he comes close. Prob about 15 shows down. Met him got pics autographs. Marcus king is where its at. And hes got down about 80+ widespread panic shows now
Not about the spelling, it's about the relation a song has to the soul, and you have it my man.
I haven't bought music in 20 years, but I would pay for this!!! Wow....
My uncle has been to about 15+ MKB shows and said its badass each time.
Already a legend...
I, by some miracle, managed to learn 20 seconds of the solo and oh my god it's so fking fun to play.
been tryin man, just about getting that rhythm down, not easy but it kinda clicks every once in a while
I can't stop watching. Inspired as a musician
I cant stop playing!!
Please God don't let this man get drowned out by the shit they call music nowadays. We need folks like this to save music!
He's in the fold for good.
This song gives me the greatest feeling. Goosebumps every time.
I always come back to this, it's my favorite version. My wife and I bumped into you on the street after a long hard performance at the House Of Blues in Houston, Texas. I know you were tired, and I didn't want to hold you up from getting on the tour bus, but I just had to tell you how amazing you guys were. I even got to speak with J.J. who, after playing with a trumpet in one hand, and a tambourine in the other simultaneously, said he had a headache. Y'all blew me away that night. I've always loved the music, and listened to you on road trips where I was driving the semi tractor trailer on long hauls, it just sets the mood- To hear you live though? That just takes the cake! Huge fan here brotha, you truly are a Hard Working Man!
All I can say is WOW! We need more old souls like Marcus. This is REAL music.
James S i
Good god man. This is fucking outstanding.
My ears needed that....
This is what musicians call "bliss." All that exists is you and a guitar. The lyrics just seem to flow out of you. Sometimes a recorder is necessary to remember what just happened, cuz you're so far gone.
"Oldest" ancient blues spirit at its very best in the youngest body I have ever seen... MArcus! You are one of the greatest in the blues world!
I feel bad for anyone who doesn't get a chance to see this Man
Have seen the Marcus King Band 3 days ago live in Cologne/Germany and I'm still full of joy about it. And now I hear him at a magical place where I was with my lovely wife in September 2015: The Big House, Macon, GA!!
He is still so young and already so incomprehensibly good ... where should that only lead?
I got to see you at Madison Square garden and your voice just got me. Marcus you have an amazing voice. Am trying to find the name of this song am looking all around and can’t find it. “and its time for us to realize it's too late and i hate to see you go. All I remember you were the women who saved me never forget all the passion and love you gave me and hoping that you feel the same”
Marcus is truly an artist. His voice is unique. Listen to the songs he writes. He is a Blues Man. And yes he plays a guitar like it is an extension of his soul!
PLAY BOY PPLLAAYYYY IT!!!!
I can feel his soul being poured out into this song. Truly amazing!
Lord have mercy ! I'm OBSESSED !
All ears no eyes =passion. The shit i like.
Marry me Marcus...i want that voice every night and day.
This is so early, he doesn’t have any tats. Although this is great, he’s greater still today. Take a listen to ‘Virginia’ with his band. Amazing.
I hope Marcus is an example of their still being hope for a new generation of blues musicians.
Youre in the pocket Marcus, roll with it and the listeners come.
Marcus King and Christone Kingfish are the new generation of blues/rock frontmen that make me feel there is hope after all...
SKYDOG LIVES
Most of us can learn to play the blues with practice. This guy was born with the blues in his heart, you can feel it! Amazing skill and a voice of gold.
Oh man, Marcus King is the real deal. Love it!!! 🎶🎵🎙️🎤🎛️🎸🎸
Dude that was SICK... Pure FIRE brother. 🙏❤️

Marcus King Band. Unbelievable talent, live is not even describable if you haven't seen him go!!! Best show I have ever heard. You can feel his soul through his music and his guitar skills he is just greatness in every level. Thank you for reminding me what music is!
I was listening to this....passed out....woke up...listened again and passed out. He is too good, I can't take it!!!
Not a day go by I don’t get right with King !!
I was thinking of him & Chris Stapleton soon as he opened up his mouth I'm in totally awe of this young man.
Not even Jesus was unanimous, but I would like to hear from these 147 unlikes WTF they didn’t like in this video. MK is simply amazing!!!
I've been playing acoustic for 1 year now and this makes me want an electric and some soul ... god bless this is some inspiration
I am not going to listen to Marcus sing about dying!
Dude!
Please!
I know you are not going down that path!
I know, it’s just a song, but your words direct the path of your our life!
I love all of you guys! I want nothing but positive things for you!
Do you want me to pray for you and your Dad?
Not because you are not doing anything wrong, just that I know you guys are so wonderful and strong in your faith!
make's me smile every time
Give this kid a Grammy. Period end of story.
This is the song I send to people who have been so unfortunate to not know Marcus yet.
Same, but always hesitating with:
czcams.com/video/LOZ3buz5Di4/video.html&ab_channel=kxtradio
Send them his cover of grand funk railroad's sin is my brother...
just randomly clicked on this video. and damn, this feels soooo good
There's blues licks, and then there's good blues licks. These are the latter, and my ears don't tire of that second kind.
Play this track at least 6 times a year and each time its brand new. So damn soulful! Beautiful
I think you meant 6 times a week
6 times a day....for me
Everytime I hear you sing and play you knock me out! Your are awesome Mr. King !!
Nice One. .. Great Sound' s Vocal' s and Touch Filling on Play Guitar ... ☺😊😀/💙💙💙/👍👌👏
I've listened to a lot of Marcus King and honestly feel he's one of the most naturally gifted guitarists I've heard. Jimi Hendrix Dimebag Darrell had it - playing the same chords as everyone else but making it sound... More. Coupled with that is the fact that Marcus' vocals are just meant for blues/jazz rock and what a hell of a combination. From what I've heard from dyin, Rita is gone, homesick and every other great track I've heard so far, he's not only a great singer and guitarist, but a great lyricist and general musician. It was no surprise to me when I read that he schooled in jazz music - his songs have a complexity in them from clearly hails from that schooling.
I'm so glad to have stumbled upon his music and genuinely cannot wait to see him live. So much more to give; it's gonna be a ride.
I'm so impressed by this talent. I'm a fan for life. Wow❤
I have watched this video every day for almost a year now. This young man brings me hope and inspiration for music in these days we live in!
Heard you for the first time last week. I've been listening to your music since then...Wow, just WoW!!
This is very pleasing to hear!
Keep the BLUES alive
U good Sir Markus
Gives me goosebumps hearing this tune, big ups brother! Love from new zealand. On repeat for hours you can believe that!
Awesome song...First heard this tune on WNKU 105.9 (in Northern KY) radio...Am a fan now!!
Its like listening to a Combo of Hendrix at the strings & Stevie Ray on the vocals reincarnated......Makes every sip of Whiskey go down Smooth 🤘
this guy is such a legend
so amazing, just to think he is playing Duane allmans guitar, he would of been proud with this sick performance
Duane Allman is definitely smiling up in heaven
Marcus King...pure genius..i love ever note..every guitar chord strung. ❤❤❤
Please Marcus if you ever read that message, upload some more for us the people.
We need your healing in those desparate time, ain't nothing but the blues 🙏
@Topjunkie May the peace be upon your heart dear stranger
Wow, man. I'm almost without words...
Soooooo much soul. Marcus always has reminded me of CeeLo Green
You can feel it down in your soul when he plays. It takes all your stress away and feels so happy as if theres not a problem in the world. Keep up the fantastic work my brotha
