"I was a hitman, I wasn't the money counter."
I love it when Jamie plays along with Adams shenanigans.
Sorry to burst your bubble but that line was most probably fed to him by the producers. Cause in one of the early behind the scenes special episodes of the mythbusters, you'll see scenes like that where the producers will pause the scene after Adam says something funny and tells Jamie to answer with a particular reply. That one episode ruined the show for me
@@adamthomas1222 maybe dont watch any behind the scenes for any tv show then lol
@@adamthomas1222The sad truth of television is that even gameshow banter and so-called reality tv feuds are scripted and/or created to cater to the "bloodlust" of the viewing public.
18:10
Mythbusters: "320 pounds...to put that into perspective..."
Me: "Oh good, they're going to explain in a measurement system I understand"
Adam: "It's about the weight of your average Linebacker"
Me: *Cries in European ; ;*
149,150 kg, you’re welcome
@@jelbecornelis3139 got that about, around 2.2 pounds per kg. But would've expected them to compare it to a washing machine or something like that.
"Everybody got a phone book".😂
What is a phone book?
Well that didn’t age well. Everyone can try because everyone has a phone book... 😂
Lol nevermind the fact that everyone needs 2 phone books to try this lol. Good luck finding one in most homes 😂
Maybe you can ask your mates nicely if you can ' borrow ' there Phones for a ' science ' experiment including 2 rental cars😮
# Samsung power # Apple strength
@@bartlambrechts1350 I'd rather use your balls. They're clearly useless
Dude I haven't had a phone book since the 90s, that's what the Internet is for
@@bartlambrechts1350 I'm good, I'll leave the homosexual mating to the Brits, Scotts, Welch, Irish, Ozzy's and kiwi's. Speaking of, is that why there's more brown babies in England now? All the white guys only mate with other guys?
Obviously the phonebooks are not completely impossible to pull apart from each other, but the amount of friction they create is just so strong that anything even remotely close to functional won't do it.
27:24 their reaction to the buoys LOL
When you realize that Grant actually fixed his buckteeth in the later seasons when you compare what he actually looked like in the earlier seasons, lol.
What a piece of history this one is. Back in my day, we had books with phone numbers in it.
Same here
And me
Good old yellow pages
20:28 "everybody's got a phonebook" that's how you know it's an old episode
"you need a pair of tanks to take apart the phonebooks"
dang, there goes my money, no jets this week
47:29 that force gauge had already hit 14,000lbs, guessing it bumped down to 8,000 when it dropped to the ground.
Still the weight of a normal sized pickup truck :P
@@panzerveps Well pickup trucks these days anyway! 😆
I feel like the phone book one is confirmed because it said that it’s basically impossible to separate them and if you have to get 2 tanks to separate them then that is an extreme nobody can do. Getting 2 tanks to do it is basically the definition of ‘basically impossible’
You don't need tanks, just 8000 pounds of force
@@mmmdawe how is getting 8000 pounds of force something reasonable 😂
@@MrMonkey2475 with elaborate system of pulleys and levers you can achieve this
@@mmmdawe umm no
@@mmmdawe Even if you are right, thats not exactly what I would call reasonable xD
A big fan of the series from Colombia
Phone book friction is one of those simple but awesome things.
I love when Adam laughts when he get out with the tank 😂😂😂
Underwater explosions are terrifying beautiful
One of my favorite episodes
Woahhh a season 6 episode has appeared
Great episode as always
4:11 its also sort of the same way the deep pile foundations in a skyscraper work
I love this myth so much,
Why do I feel like the shark explosion got some changes in the script during the filming.
the 2 1/2 sticks of dynamite worth gave an impressive explosion that took out the shark. So the dialogue in the movie works out right.
But someone said the explosion had to be bigger. And they cut down on the taking apart stuff to get powder part.
This is so cool, I wish phonebooks were real
Good shit.great episode
So... how many mythterns had to clean that lake of foam? XD
...back in the day, when everybody had a phonebook ;-)
At long last Jamie is home.
NiCe
Two things - I love to check out the tags on all the boxes in the shop. That's cool to imagine what they use them for. (and what "toys" entails). Second - I am so weirded out by the fact that Tory (mostly) has to have his caps or t-shirts censored. Wth is on them?!?!
Probably brand names, I don’t think that discovery likes having brands obviously on display, why the car badges and number plates on the rental cars are also taped over
its called "greeking" in production, essentially removing brand names or logos to stop companies from claiming lawsuits etc for any reason
I've been watching the full series again, and I have to say, I think Jamie had a sense of humor that Adam just didn't understand. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Adam Savage, but I think he got irritated a lot when Jamie was trying to be funny. Also, I'd imagine Adam's ADHD didn't help matters much either.
ADHD meets Autism
I really want a life-sized foam shark like the one Tori made. It looks so cool! 🦈
41:24 the worst experiment until the day they express delivered a cannonball into somebody's house.
I need that Mythfits shirt Adam is wearing!
A phone Book?
Kids these days wouldn't understand💣
29:27 RATM - Killing in the name
33:47 so big and WHAT? 🤣
weighty 😊
Can anyone understand what explosive they use in the end? 4000 lbs of _____?
400 lbs of TNT
Is this fiction or a case of friction, need to know
Standing right beside tow chains under tension is one of the gravest of H&S violations. These guys are smart enough to know that, so the fact that they would so casually hazard themselves is an indication of fuckery afoot.
In the 21st century, printed phone books are increasing criticized as waste. In 2012, after some North America cities passed laws banning the distribution of telephone books, industry group sued and obtained a court rulling permitting the distribution to continue. In 2010, manufacture and distribution of phone books produced over 1,400,000 metric tons of greenhouse gasses and consumed over 600,000 tons of paper annually.
20:23 Oh wow that's dated the show. Anyone got a phone book now?
When was the last time anyone's seen a phonebook?
Which deep blue see movie is this one ? 7:54
Many people seem to miss the fact that the phone books didn't neatly separate in the end. They ripped a lot, which wasn't allowed to begging with.
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehsaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
the explosion should have been the last segment of the episode not the phone books lol
Mythbuster fans when their work week doesn't end with an explosion every week 😱😱😭
@@OscarLT321 Damn right
When I was a kid I stole someone's phone book and dumped it.
What is a phonebook?
No more phone books but stick two Bibles together and watch as all your friends suddenly start believing in God again.
I'm here to comment about grocery store line, the serpentine one u need to put 2 people in the casher so after the one there's one coming and no time to waste, try to re-create it and use 2 people each cashier after the one leave the next one and then the other one come so no time wasted by just walking...this is not debatable this is my only opinion...
The narration is too low on volume.
not really
Carrie is so hot
Who else thinks they should have used rear wheel drive cars to pull the phone books apart?
Imagine a book that doxxes everybody's phone number.
