This is probably the longest comment I have ever made on a CZcams video, and I hope I keep making more.
Greatman highlighted something important about God's love and compassion: how we often overlook connecting with God emotionally due to our "machoness."
I have a personal theory about why we sometimes struggle to connect emotionally with God. I think it ties back to upbringing. If you weren't raised in an emotionally loving family, it can be hard to express love with God unless you intentionally work on it. God is love; he is emotional, and many of us struggle to understand that part because of the eisegesis we've been taught about God.
Just like we talk about love languages with our friends and loved ones, we should do the same for God. God has a love language, too. Read John 14:15, 21, etc.
" If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. " John 14:15 AMPC
" The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me, and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.] "John 14:21 AMPC
Also, Everyone should take an attachment style test. It helps to understand how attachment styles impact one's relationships with people and even God. It might seem weird, but it's worth exploring.
