Tank is NOT Rewarding in Overwatch 2

- Tank feels the weakest it's ever been & heals won't really fix that, it feels like playing the fun tanks & actually getting good at them isn't as rewarding anymore. Doomfist gets shafted so hard if they go Cass & Sombra, you can try to play around them but if your DPS isn't helping then you'll just have to take an L. The DPS passive feels too strong & can just get melted in an instance as a tank. I hope changes are made to make the tank actually feel like a tank & they tune some stuff cuz carrying is much more difficult & not even possible at times. Tank is never rewarding in most games. At least not as much as support or dps. For them there is the instant feedback of healing, damage, or kills. Most of the time if you do super well as a tank, you just succeed. That's the whole point of a good Frontline. The best ones make it impossible for the enemy team to get anything done. In any game. So it sounds like you're just playing the wrong role.
You can do everything perfect as a tank but having a bad dps makes it nearly impossible to win. Tank use to be rewarding because your plays alone can win the match but with the new dps passive you get melted almost instantly at times.
@KPR56 I think Certain tanks are just poorly designed. Not that tank as a whole is weak or unrewarding. Certain tanks like sigma, JQ, and Ball. Can do just fine, and they are very difficult to cheese when they are in the hands of players that know how to use them. Even with the dps passive. I hate say it but tanks like hog, rein, mauga. Etc. (Even orisa/dva sometimes) Just aren't that useful in the tank role. Tanks need to be able to manage a bunch of stuff at the same time. Roadhog JUST deals damage. Reinhardt JUST deals damage, or JUST blocks damage. How can the role feel rewarding if only like half of the role can do what the role is supposed to do lol. That's not an issue with the game. Blizzard just keeps making shit tanks.
As a wrecking ball main, the amount of hate i recieve for other people playing badly is insane. The other day i got blamed because "our dps cant position without a shield"
As a ball main as well, I feel that. Nothing worse than stagnant dps when we're out here working 1000% harder than everyone else
Honestly all they have to do is push when you're pushing or when you get an elim. If it's tank or support elim then it's a huge team advantage & dps should easily be able to follow up
Yeah, I'm glad I convinced my friends to play because it makes life so much easier

Yo great vid, the only thing I think could help with my enjoyment of it is the sound mixing. I’m hard of hearing and I can’t hear some sentences at all because of how the music swells. I think you have great points about tank and my experience absolutely resembles yours
stg, having a dps tell me to push when the enemy team got a pick and ill get shredded in .5 picoseconds makes me wanna jump off a cliff. Like if you want me to push then shoot something other than the enemy tank farming damage stat
Yea it's annoying to have some brain dead dps sometimes so then you get rolled by all the damage being pumped out while yours is hiding behind support.

Doomfist was also meta & isnt a bad pick unless they go 2 counters. You also see me switch to Mauga in the video.

Yup & depending which tank you are, you'll get melted so fast you probably won't contest for much.

Tank is always my best class ım an rein/roadhog main but teams always blaming us this video so true
Rein is probably the only iffy choice but you can definitely make it work & roadhog is still really good even if people are trying to counter him. If you play around cover good you will win no doubt.
@@KPR56 Dude this happened to me today lost 5 games in a row in gold 2 and there was nothing i could do. I feel like its pointless playing tank now and tryhing to rank up kinda gave up on the game there is just too much imbalance and widow ashe soldier and sojorn are just way too strong now.
Love how they try and force dps to have a useful passive meanwhile tank passive is a joke. A Lucio boop should not move you as tank if they want that passive to be useful.
Dude i just played 5 games and lost all 5 on tank. Its impossible to climb on tank now.
Yea I started playing dps more recently & it is much easier compared to tank. You just have to hope the dps gap is not too big so you can make some sort of impact otherwise you wont be able to do anything.
As tank I do more damage and kill more than the dps, l cancel ultis, I die less and yet I'm blamed at the end of the game - that's why I have stopped to play tank, It's not rewarding AT ALL.
Yup people are really dense at times even when you point out the problem they'll just project most of the time.
Saying that you can’t carry on tank if your dps are bad is just a skill issue lol put a Gm tank in your shoes they win
Ah yes because there arent a bunch of clips posted where tanks are melted in half a second. If the enemy team knows you're the problem & your dps are mid, you're not winning.
Honestly in all the matches I had as tank mostly is DPS fault because how does a tank and support have more kill then the DPS I have hit 15k damage w 40 kills DPS on 20 kills w 9k damage.
Yea it seems like you got a bunch of the mid dps, it's really annoying when that happens, I usually just type in the chat for support to go dps supp like zen, bap, or lucio.

You're missing the point. As a tank player, you have very little impact towards the outcome. You don't provide nearly as much value as the other roles. You're essentially held hostage by your teammates on dps/support that provide a lot more value. If your dps are trash, you just auto lose. At least in OW1, with a second tank, you had the ability to carry games, regardless of your DPS or not.
Nah yk what I need when I go tank I need the matchmaking system to give me decent or good teammates in my metal rank I can’t get out of gold up 1 down 1 up 1 down 3 I keep loosing as tank I try and try I even take suggestions I do wtv even go orisa for crutch but I still can’t my dps just tries. Man console lobbies are wild at the moment.
People are still not the rank they were suppose to be so you might get paired up against people that could have been masters or higher last season, I had to play a lot of games to get to diamond 1 since I would get a lot of negative modifiers when I lose. Then, I would get expected every other game with no win streak until after the 7th win in a row.

Had a game where I'm 30-5, my DPS are 16-12 each. DPS "tank diff"

I've had those type of games & I would just tell my supp to go more aggressive supp so they can actually back me up since heals were not the problem.

But support? I won 12 games as lucio with 0 healing purely for fun and mischievous acts of tomfoolery with my friend and we lost 3 games total
The difference between all the roles in terms of fun is staggering
