Wow, I had watched another video and when you were unscrewing the bolt I kept thinking why is he doing it that way. Then when I saw how the bolt was left inside and not even taken out ,I saw that your way is better
For the life of me I could not remember the bolt size and of course CZcams had a video on it. After this I need to look up some dental videos. I have a few fillings that need some work!
I'm checking out used 2010's; online commenters say this is a common flaw for these years of Hyundais. Some dealers actually stock (or used to stock) replacements, because it happened so often.
thank you. some jerk broke the passenger side door handle and mirror off of my elderly mother's sonata and i needed to know how to replace the handle. the mirror, i have plenty of practice with those. she breaks at least 2 a year.
My driver side door on my 09 snapped tonight. Is this the same procedure? I see 3 screws and a black rubber plug on the outer edge of the inside and am wondering if thats where I need to be on replacing mine. Thanks so much!
Remove the rubber plug and the bolt underneath. Make sure not to drop the bolt as you'll have to take the door panal out in order to retrieve it. Good luck

There couple things to check. Make sure child lock not activated Usually the inner door handle connected to the lock by a rod. There's a plastic piece sits at the end of the rod and lock it in to the handle (I forgot what its called). You can get replacement for that piece at the auto parts store.

It doesn't take much to break them off, sonatas are notorious for the door handles breaking.

Sometimes people or specially kids yank on it while it's locked and it'll snap. Replacement is cheap and easy.
2010 130k broke because my friend she is a meat fister!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't planning on painting it. But you're correct it'll be easier to paint it outside the car.

They should be the same. But I didn't try myself to be clear.
Why did you get a black handle instead of the silver original color?
All new ones comes unpainted, otherwise need to get used one from another car that have matching color code.
what becomes of the broken piece that remained in the door mechanism?
Left it there. Didn't want to take the door apart for it

@@dougp6664 broken peice should fall to the bottom of the door. When installed the new one didn't have any issue with the broken peice.

we've had all three passenger door handles come off the car. I assure you we are not maniacs, it's clearly a poor design. 😬😂
