To avoid confusion for the audience and so voice actors don't have to try and speak the way their body swapped character does. Though, in this case, McFarlane basically voices everyone involved. What pisses me off is when they do a future Simpsons episode and Bart and Lisa have the exact same voices they had as children.
Why do the voices follow the minds in cartoons? Isn't it a wasted opportunity to give the voice actors a chance to voice a different character like they do their normal character? Imagine if Stewie and Brian swapped bodies and the accent was the thing that moved with the baby instead of his voice.
