Geely Coolray After 6 Months: Not My Favorite Anymore

  • Hi,
This is my last video about our Geely Coolray Sport that we acquired 6 months ago. Here I talk about the updates on the car and how it grew on me since the last video about first impressions. Overall, I have no regrets in getting the Coolray.
But there's another car that I fell in love with and I wish I got that one instead.

I have a 15 months old coolray and for me my mga points lng dn ako na mejo d tayo pareho and kanya kanya naman talaga tayo kaya napakahalaga ng test drive bago mg decide.
First ung suspension for me goods na goods sya i like it specially sa curves rolling nya superb and sa lubak ang smooth lng .galing ako sa medyo mas malaki chevy captiva and i would say mas ok suspension ni coolray .
About sa Aircon knobs. D ko alam if mali intindi ko 🤣 pero meron sya for fan and climate control both sa infotainment/touchscreen and sa knob which is ung nasa magkabilang gilid ng piano buttons .
About sa infotainment. Infotainment natn is mas level up na kesa sa ibang brand specially the resolution and ung response ng touch nya .mabilis at halatang d tinipid ang camera for me sya ung pinaka malinaw at pinaka accurate na natry ko sa lhat ng brands .MOD naman for me is Worth it din .mod is not only for the youtube or Netflix but for the AA and for the carplay minsan napakahassle gamitin ng qdlink .
Overall for me coolray is a good investment naman in terms of buying a car . Nang galing din ako sa no to Chinese brand dati pero nung nadrive ko na in person nakita ko in person . D talaga ako ngkamali . 15 months no problem ni isa .PMS? Superb last 20k pms i pay only 4021php .50% discount sa oil . Dami pa freebies . Sulit talaga .
About naman sa parts kung mausisa kayo. At d naniniwala sa mga hater at troll . Kung d kau makawait sa casa . don't go to banawe kasi wala pa talaga dun .try to go ali express alibaba. 1 click my order link kana .and use UPS delivery para d ka mainip wala pa 1 week hawak mo na parts mo 😊😊 un lng
    Drive safe

In Malaysia this is called proton x50 , they have a larger sibling called an x70. Problem i have with this company many issues and always sc claim no parts. Some items like the gearbox and radiator fan are common failure points for thr x70 yet they try to shrug off responsibility not to mention non responsive head units.
I hope this company respects its consumers more though yes it has lot of features but reliability and warranty is lacking.

To be honest, a 6-month timeline should be nothing for a car especially for a brand new one. Issues began for cars after 5 years or 80t km at least for general thumb. If it has some major mechanical issues after just 2 years (like the transmission of Ford pickups), that's the time you'll know it can't be trusted. Anyway, I like Geely for its features over value but if I'm going to buy and invest in another car, I have to make sure I have sufficient research about it otherwise it's all for naught. I'll wait for your 2-year and 5-year reviews, assuming that car survives by then.

@@mr.mxyzptlk8242 I have an 11-year-old Innova. Even if it's a Toyota, I was still skeptical so I waited 4 years for the owner's personal reviews and I was convinced so I bought a brand new one back in 2009. So far it has no major issue besides the usual wear and tear parts. I can still drive it in city and long drive with confidence in 2022. Of course, it still depends on how you take care of your car but in the end, I am satisfied with the durability of the major parts like its engine, ACU, stock spring, and exhaust system. I also have a Fortuner, Hilux, Tamaraw FX, and big body Corolla all in good condition.

Thank you for your review. Im planning to buy one. A toss up between cool ray vs zst. Sa cool ray i prefer the comfort primarily kasi sya lang ang walang sun roof. Sa Philippines kasi, quite impratical ang may sunroof kasi ang init-init sa atin. It will add up in your fuel consumption. In cold countries ok sya as it can add heat inside your car hence lessen the utilizationnof your car heaters. Because of the presence of sun roof sa ZST, makes me favor more cool ray. The ZS alpha kasi, medyo may lag ng 5 to 6 2nds before it can go to higher speed. Lalo pag umaakyat ng batakan may delay na feeling mo mabibitin ka bago humatak.
Was worried lang sa long term use of the car. But with your review and another pvt owner of cool ray na naka 2 yrs na sya at isang near 50km na natakbo gives me confidence to buy the cool ray. Again thanks for the review.

That Changan Uni-K is a bit comparable in terms of the looks department with the Geely FY11. Changan CS75 that is already avalable in the local market is also ok, however there are some things that put me into apprehension in pulling the trigger 1) reverse camera sucks, and is visually of low quality 2) direct injection engine is not my preferred choice, and it will have a gunk deposit in the long run. I don;t think Changan's PMS includes cleaning it up, as it requires a massive engine disassembly 3) There are only few Changan casa / service centers., and hence the ecosystem of parts are also few.

Beautiful insights! But these aren't the things I care for. I'm more into the looks. I don't care too much about the insides of the engine because I trust the manufacturer enough. And btw,
Geely Coolray > Changan CS75 Pro
But Uni-K > any other car in the price segment (for me)

Thanks for the update Daniel! Your intros are great but somehow it kinda dies down in the middle of the video. But nonetheless, I watched the entire video and you have really great and honest insights about your car.
I wanted the Geely Coolray for a really long time now but I've changed my mind a couple of weeks ago. A few of my dealbreakers is the fuel economy and the parts taking a really long time if ever something needs to be replaced.
I am currently considering between a Volkswagen T-Cross, Mazda CX3, or a Kia Stonic.
If you still have time to do, I would really appreciate updates on your Geely Coolray still, but that would be up to you. Just from an audience perspective, you've been the most insightful and honest reviewer and coming from a personal experience, nothing could top that.

So far, no regrets naman, it's really value for money. Yun lang, walang rear a/c vents :D

kakapasok lang ni Changan talagang di mo pa mararamdaman yung support pero in any hyundai pwede mo ipaservice si changan. 2021 JD initial quality study Changan is on top among chinese car brand. and subok na si Cs35+ nag endurance test sila 24/7 for 122 days naka 100k kilometer problem free pms lang ang pahinga. the problem with coolray may mga issues na like manipis ang paint, may mga nagpawarranty na ng shock absorber.

While yung mga Toyota buyers naman ay saktong kuripot lang since pangmatagalan ang gustong kotse o Kaya naman gusto pa rin nila ma i resell ng medyo mataas when comes the time na magpapalit na ng oto.
