I used to live in the town of this church. They have a pretty sketchy and malicious past. Their old pastor was let go due to pedophile charges and there was a huge legal dispute between them and the small church I used to go to as a kid. Which ended in James River taking over the church, taking all of our donated items and throwing them in the trash, as well as claiming they helped a lot of the neighborhoods and people, our church had been working with for years. It's crazy and a shame to see how far greed has got these people.
I think I've finally found the one evangelical church I would actually go to willingly. It's like beyond parody to the point that it's just amazing to witness. Mind you, it's a complete mockery of Christianity to an almost offensive degree, but I can overlook it just for how high effort everything is.

I have a weird amount of dirt on this church. One of my best friends was a really high up member and worked with all the higher ups. She went to many of those conferences. She worked their media! It's insane and was so surreal to hear you talking about it because of the connection I know to that church and knowing some of those people and seeing them in videos with my friend lol
Please tell us, I currently attend this church but lately it’s been feeling so uncomfortable, especially after the obsession with these healings and their guest speaker they had recently claiming to heal self harm scars at the end of his talk. I had to walk away for a bit. I’ve struggled for years with self harm before going to therapy, and it felt so cruel for someone to say that. I could only imagine the teens in the crowd who were struggling with the same thing being hurt by that.
I love how the "Slide of Doom" got Charlie all hyped, but then he saw the actual jump was a way smaller than he thought, and he was just disappointed at the end.

Its probably because its a mega church. My church does normal traditional worship and is pretty small to medium sized Id say. Instead of singing hymns and having a choir and an organ, these mega churches replace it with a drum set, electric guitars, and no hymns. Im pretty sure they do praise music. I dont know about you, but I way prefer traditional worship over contemporary worship.

Also if you finance it you don't have to pay the bank back since you now have a functioning tank.
In relative terms Centurion is probably the cheapest tank besides surplus Soviet/Czech T-55s. But note I said "relative" tanks are still expensive and god forbid you need parts or mechanical work done, you can't just drive that shit to your local mechanic.

I literally live minutes from the Ozark campus of this church. Their services require multiple police officers for traffic control and the traffic afterwards is absolutely insane. I’ve worked multiple events there (through an employer outside of the church) and seen boxing matches and expensive cars lining the church. It’s honestly hilarious how over the top it is.
Same. I always drive the highway to work, and it’s honestly impressive how much police presence there is on a Wednesday and Sunday night. The whole place is PACKED every service.

i used to live in Redding a couple years ago and i met a few people that go to the Bethel Church regularly, and yes it really is this insane sometimes, most of the non-religious or just non-Bethel people i knew in the community would definitely classify it as a cult that got really popular. one of my friend's dad offered to let me come in for one of their "prayer days" or "sermons", i think it was called, i told him id think about it and once he left that same friend told me it was a good idea to not go because they'd probably do some crazy, like very illegal, stuff to me. He said it in like a joking way but still had a slight undertone of seriousness to it so i'm honestly glad i didn't go. Honestly Bethel is like REALLY evangelical, almost Morman-like but they just pray for some absolutely OUTLANDISH stuff, think like praying for rainfall when California was going through the drought or praying for big tech CEOs to end up "missing". (apparently they had to clarify missing and not die because that would ofc be not that chill with god)

Bethel church is a weird one. Most conservative churches (basically your average church) whether they be Baptist, traditional or another denomination really don’t like them or at the very least have doubts about them and their music. Hell even the Pentecostal/Charismatic denominations that made that church and its music popular in the first place have started to question them. As A Christian who has been to these events. It is very much about Christ. They have guest speakers who talk about their relationship with Christ. This is just an event they hold once yearly to gather the men who believe in Christ to have a good time and hear messages.

This is a men’s conference. My church has this too. Usually it’s a bunch of men going camping/gun shooting/having fun. Some churches will do live events for the conference and make it a much bigger deal like this church does and it’s usually once a year type deal. I really wouldn’t say this a church service, it’s more like an adult version of a youth event(where a bunch of teenagers play board games or go laser tag as a church event)

We dont do contemporary worship with Christian rock music and powerpoints and all that and no hymns. Im personally not a fan of contemporary worship. I much prefer traditional worship. I feel like all these mega churches are doing too much instead of just doing traditional Christian Worship.

@@potatoes5829 Nah you can w the right contacts and a couple forms w the ATF granted you have a few 10's of million lying around for a modern tank. Older tanks are much cheaper, and the late 50's through the late 70's offers the most modern machines for the price. Depending of course on the make and condition of the tank expect about 150k-950k. Also if you finance it you don't have to pay the bank back since you now have a functioning tank.
In relative terms Centurion is probably the cheapest tank besides surplus Soviet/Czech T-55s.
But note I said "relative" tanks are still expensive and god forbid you need parts or mechanical work done, you can't just drive that shit to your local mechanic.

For anyone interested, the tank is undoubtedly the British Centurion. I can't pinpoint if it's an export variant or a domestic variant, but to me it seems like it's a native Mark 5 without its sideskirts and mantlet cover, although I could be wrong

As someone who was there, i can confirm it was hype. Also they did have monster jam and like a 80's rock band themed concert the year before, it's some wild stuff
i used to live in Redding a couple years ago and i met a few people that go to the Bethel Church regularly, and yes it really is this insane sometimes, most of the non-religious or just non-Bethel people i knew in the community would definitely classify it as a cult that got really popular.
one of my friend's dad offered to let me come in for one of their "prayer days" or "sermons", i think it was called, i told him id think about it and once he left that same friend told me it was a good idea to not go because they'd probably do some crazy, like very illegal, stuff to me. He said it in like a joking way but still had a slight undertone of seriousness to it so i'm honestly glad i didn't go.
Honestly Bethel is like REALLY evangelical, almost Morman-like but they just pray for some absolutely OUTLANDISH stuff, think like praying for rainfall when California was going through the drought or praying for big tech CEOs to end up "missing". (apparently they had to clarify missing and not die because that would ofc be not that chill with god)
My time there and all the people i knew, they never did anything cult like. Obviously its stupid to try to revive dead kids, but everyone is normal beyond having such a high opinion on their miracle making skills.

Bethel church is a weird one. Most conservative churches (basically your average church) whether they be Baptist, traditional or another denomination really don’t like them or at the very least have doubts about them and their music. Hell even the Pentecostal/Charismatic denominations that made that church and its music popular in the first place have started to question them. They have a supernatural school which teaches those types of things like resurrecting the dead (although after that controversy 2 years back it might be out of its curriculum), praying on top of graves some weird stuff that even the Bible thumpers who speak in tongues are weirded out by.

As A Christian who has been to these events. It is very much about Christ. They have guest speakers who talk about their relationship with Christ. This is just an event they hold once yearly to gather the men who believe in Christ to have a good time and hear messages.

Most calm Mega Church service

This is a men’s conference. My church has this too. Usually it’s a bunch of men going camping/gun shooting/having fun. Some churches will do live events for the conference and make it a much bigger deal like this church does and it’s usually once a year type deal. I really wouldn’t say this a church service, it’s more like an adult version of a youth event(where a bunch of teenagers play board games or go laser tag as a church event)
