I just purchased a boat with one of these and impressed with how bloody powerful the motor is and how quick the boat is. Took a bit of figuring out to get it started and idling smoothly, but had it running well after that. It's best to fresh water flush after each use, correct?
Hi, nice motor ! I have the same motor (1995 model) could you please tell me what the guage on top of the ref counter is of ? As my gauges are the same. Thanks.
She's a Beauty...! Probably the Best Outboard OMC ever built...

I have this engine. Are the water pumps easy to do or do you need special tools.
There easy to do no special tools
Probably only need a new impeller.
So take the carbs off, and apart, & clean the jets and all the small orfices, and put them all back together...! WALA...!
Then consistently run 1 oz of Seafoam per gallon of Premium Non-Ethanol Gasoline...
needs carbs cleaned and rebuilt. keeps hitting on all 3, then down to 2 cyl!
Just picked one up for 400 bucks
Je voudrai piston Johnson 70
